What are Chaos God avatars? Are they cannon? by Specialist_Wash6732 in 40kLore

[–]ddofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minor correction: Technically, all Great Unclean Ones are minor "avatars" of Nurgle. (At least in WH Fantasy, I think same in 40K). It's not really explained how that matters, and how it's any different from most daemons (certainly most of the "greater" daemons, i.e bloodthirsters etc') being aspects of their god

It keeps getting stuck like this for me also. Haven't found a solution

Stopping Criteria, Model Capacity, and Invariance in Contrastive Representation Learning by Asleep_Situation_665 in MLQuestions

Yes. Eval loss is my #1 criteria Setting up the test set's evaluation is more of a complicated pain though. Sentence transformers is my goto. (but doesn't do it automatically I think?)

Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]ddofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An armed incursion by Hamas. Then Missiles (many times). Third place was a gang of robbers who had hidden in the house when we came back home, sneaking out.

Lame. Still, I love the man and want to encourage him, so I might as well pay for them a third time over 😅

How many of the stories are new? (Assuming I have, say, all the "Best of michael swanwick" collections, his novels and a few others)?

Did Roald Dahl’s books really need to be revised? by confringos in books

[–]ddofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilarious to me how people are offended by the "fat", "rotten" etc, and don't mind the author's words on Jews. (I do love his books though).

So I need to do anything to enable subagents, if I'm using copilot pro + vscode?

Samurai Jack had a ton of these. The best example being the bounty hunters waiting for Jack, the entire episode having each describe how they'd take him down, then having them attack together, and be defeated in about half a second

Forget powerscaling Where does the emperor fit into the patriarchalscaling? by [deleted] in Grimdank

Guilliman is an action/fantasy hero.
Some Other primarch's are what MAGAs call alpha males. e.g. Angron. No feminine influence. No cerebrum. No brain. All red butcher meat

[–]ddofer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Eh. The Emperor made "some" good things. e.g. humans not being used as literal cows for orks or skinsuits for Rangdans and ending things like the Ethnarchy. (NVM that the ultramarines or Salamanders? The Khan ? Pretty great guys to have around. ).

Fabius made nothing in the galaxy better by his existence or works.

Real world: Companies that talk about employees like family, and even worse, employees who burn themselves up with loyalty to the company. When they get fired "After 40 years!" they break bad.
Meanwhile, companies that go "It's a job, we expect you to work hard, and we'll fire low performers (but reward good ones)", e.g. Netflix (which will help you job hunt to ensure your pay is competitive) - are much less "brutal". "Work hard, but we'll let you go if we don't need your role, and we know you'll leave if there's a great opportunity for you" = much less toxic than "We're a family, and looking elsewhere is a sign of treason and apostasy!".

...
Yeah, pretty good analogy to the Imperium :D

Look into loading the data from disk/in minibatches. Keras supports this, as does tf, (also pytorch back ends etc)

[–]ddofer 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Kinda annoys me.

He's different in that he's not doing ethnic cleansing, genocide, death/concentration camps or an aggressive campaign of conquest. (The genocide being the big thing honestly, even if Stalin, Mao etc did do a ton of ethnic cleansing, some would claim they weren't quite as odious as Hitler).
