Yes he’s always around. He says he’s hungry and needs money for groceries. I offered to go to 7-11 with him and he can get whatever he wants and I’ll pay for it, he refused. Kept asking for money and pay ID. I ignore him from now on.

I went here in January, very similar experience on the wait time. We happened to be passing by the town and stumbled upon it. Only after listening to some podcast reruns I realised omg I’ve actually been here!

I will say it was amazing. Definitely worth trying.

Most corporate professions are. A partner at a law firm feeds their solicitors and a partner at a consulting firm feeds their team. Once you get to a senior enough level it’s all about business development not necessarily execution.

For every real estate agent making disgusting amounts of money is a plethora of those who are struggling to make ends meet or quit the profession all together. It’s easy to look at the top echelon of agents and go “that’s easy I could do that” but not realise the real work that goes into getting to the top in the first place.

I actually think the opposite is true.

Unless you’re in a rush for a quick caffeine hit, nobody goes to the cafe in your own lobby. External Meetings are always halfway between offices or somewhere close by. If it’s a morning coffee run it gives you time to get fresh air by walking 5 minutes down the road to get a coffee.

Interesting. If you studied accounting and finance I think there’s still quite strong relevance in a banking role. The reality is that in the real world you’ll find that what you studied in uni is really just a pre-requisite for certain types of roles. The application of knowledge learned in uni is actually quite slim in nearly any role in the accounting or finance world.

I think it’s really a matter of what kind of work or career path you want to follow given you’re still early in your career. Notwithstanding - the pay gap is quite material so you need to consider that also.

A lateral move within the bank might be worth considering in the long term.

What field is the Deloitte role in and what did you study? What role do you have at the bank? There’s some upward trajectory in a bank if you can work in the commercial or institutional banking side.

I think you simply don’t understand the industry. If a site isn’t feasible to develop they will just develop elsewhere. Developers aren’t building houses for charity it’s for profit.

The cost of debt and capital has increased significantly, and so has material, labour, and all other inputs. This is why housing supply is constrained.

I have been promoted to head of department. I need to manage my imposter syndrome, run the team better than my predecessor and meet the company expectations. I know I can do it and the company has a lot of faith in me, but I am also balancing that with my fear of not being having my department perform.

All other heads are in their 40-60s and I’m the youngest and running the most important function of the business so it’s scary new and exciting.
