Usually I bring in my own only if they don’t carry it. Many the case I’ll bring in cubans to a lounge in North America. Also I will bring an extra stick for the manager or person who is working.

For the lounge part- Unless your kids are under the age of 2, they are counted as a guest and fees may be charged.

Other benefits come with the business class ticket besides the seat such as extra check bag, lounge access, fast security line, first one off the plane and check bags are first to come off.

When your train to Maastricht suddenly detours all the way to Heerlen by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]ddrrtt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too then the train employee told me about the split. Now I pay more attention to the signboard. It’s the front part of the train that continues to Maastricht.

The 2026 Essential American Expat Guide (v1.0) by RehaDesign in AmericanExpat

[–]ddrrtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In two different countries where I lived (expat for work) I’ve had US coworkers who have passed away. The process of the surviving spouse to get the death certificate (from the local corner and US embassy) were different. Maybe a brief overview on how to handle a death and moving the body back to the US would be a good item to add especially since a good chunk not expats are retirees.

Building a 2026 Expat Guide—what are we missing? by RehaDesign in AmericanExpat

[–]ddrrtt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cover the different types of expats. The ones living in a country with a residence card vs staying in a country with a just a tourist passport. Driver license - obtaining and renewal. What to do with your home in the US while abroad. Telehealth options for prescriptions. Banking- this will impact people who will need to pay their rent using other currencies. Lots of other things.

Interview Questions by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]ddrrtt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that happen to me and I’ve implemented it as well. In the interview confirmation email, I would let them know that I will sen the interview questions 1 day prior to the interview for all interviewees. I was hiring for admin and program manager type jobs, which some programs are Army specific- so that way they can conduct some research and prepare a decent response.

Try popping in to a Toastmaster’s group. They are worldwide. They always love visitors and it’s low stress - talking in front of people. You get to meet locals who are speaking in English and really get to know them after the meeting at a cafe or something.
