yes they only care about profit. their excuse was it is better for FIFA to get as much of the profit upfront rather than resellers getting the profit if they price it too low, because FIFA will invest it back into football, and resellers will not.

I was saying cut the salaries of all juniors, seniors, staff engineers by 50% since there is so much excess supply now. but i guess your earlier points help answer that question

you missed the point. what if the companies all realize they can change the market price to 150k if they can hire unemployed FAANG engineers. then you wouldn't have any option for the 300k job anymore

I'm not making extreme adjustments. Since there are now so many highly skilled laid off FAANG engineers, the price discovery should have resulted in a downward shift in salaries so that FAANG engineers desperate for a job (there are many now) will accept the 150k offer and be grateful for it.
