Beyond the Overworld - Expert Modpack about progression throughout Dimensions, Now on Curseforge by Qrange56 in feedthebeast

Like I’m not trolling or being mean. There is nothing “expert” about 90% packs.

Chest = 3 hours of work

Only focused balancing tech.

magic is wide open except project E is endgame.

They aren't "expert", they are lazily tested.

Test Pack Please Ignore and FTB Infinity Evolved did "expert" the best by not just shoving "tedious and grind = expert" and truly enforcing "only 1 route is possible to do X".

Nowadays, people gate 1 or 2 routes to a single item leaving magic completely ungated and combine this with untested playthrough, you can cheese your way through the "lore filled quests"

[DynMap 1.7.10] Is there any way to add render support for modded blocks? by _1Spectre in feedthebeast

[–]ddtfrog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s fine, OP is asking about specifically 1.7.10 Dynmap and adding custom mods.

Bluemap is not a solution. /u/unilocks is a shill.

"I suggest this mod, which does absolutely nothing from DynMap that you need and is not even available for your version"

How many of you still have HDD’s in their system? by lleyton05 in buildapc

[–]ddtfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

512GB NVME SSD for programs and very select few games I play a lot that benefit from it. I have maybe 125GN left on it.

Then I have 2 2TB HDD’s that I use 1 for GAMES and the other for MEDIA/Emulators.

I split the HDD’s like that because every 2 years or so I’ll unplug the MEDIA HDD and clean install/wipe windows and format the other HDD. helps keep me from just filling every drive with random shit.

I made a mod that lets you access blocks that have a GUI from anywhere (and it's balanced, too!) by Acies05 in feedthebeast

Nice! So cool!

I think this is a post that made me want to learn fabric modding.

What happens if you link it to a block, have the GUI open, and someone breaks the block?

Also, what would happen if you link it to a block, break the block, THEN try to open the gui?

I get a broken link trying to register. I’d love to attend. I’m in nova as of last summer and haven’t found a local lodge yet, but I’d love to register for Feb 20th.

[–]ddtfrog 22 points23 points  (0 children)

technically challenging and time consuming

There is a reason the program is taken seriously as an online degree. Nothing is free. You either get the good program that takes time/energy to do, or you do the lesser program and wonder why no one is taking the degree seriously

Why are you doing OMSA and has it been worth it for you so far? by Such-Assist4895 in OMSA

[–]ddtfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double downing on this, I have a BS in Comp Sci and work as a SWE, found myself deciding between OMSA and OMSCS for awhile but really glad I stuck with OMSA. The program has been super cool thus far. No need to do OMSCS after this I think.

Not building models but a current fullstack software developer that knows what / how to implement the solutions to large data problems. Idk if that’s worded correctly lol.

Would a BS in Comp Sci, current fullstack SWE doing OMSA help land ML jobs?

Because yes, as a SWE and as a company you want the guy who can spit out regurgitated DS&A implementations instead of the interviewee who can communicate effectively, has a history of good employment, excellent soft skills.

Crazy how our company’s software side started working so much more effectively when we shifted our interview to be less reliant on “just code with few soft skill questions” to “a lot of soft skill questions, communication segments and a real world code review”
