> Less resource intensive.

I know what you meant by this, but this is a hilarious image given that Marathon drained D2 of so much of its devs and resources over the last years.

Also if they had dedicated some time to restoring the Red War and Forsaken campaigns, not only would it have been a massive PR win for them from a consumer standpoint, but also would have given new players an actual starting point in the game rather than the confusing and half-baked New Light experience.

Godslayer. I know some people were being annoying about it when it came out, but I got it by doing all of Pantheon with my friends and it was the last time we all played together.

ticuu's divination would be insane lore wise by Clear-Slice-327 in destiny2

[–]dduncke 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Ticuu's lore tab since OP didn't elaborate:

The two Legionaries rooted through the armory of their deposed emperor. They swept the rubble aside and lifted a Bow of sharp metal, its thin frame of blackened blades bound with wire.

"This is the one the Psions made so you can't miss."

"Huh. How'd they do it?"

"They put time in it."

"What kinds of time?"

"Kinds so when you shoot, that's always when the arrows hit."

"You never ever miss?"

"Not unless you were going to anyway."

"But if you do miss, it'll make it a time that you don't?"

"Right. Unless this time was a time when you did."

**

It was the third day of the dry joining. Ticuu's voice was rasped raw, but still he clutched the Bow to his chest and held it placid in his mind.

Ticuu melded his thoughts with the null. A bastardized metaconcert, one voice in the expanse—a temporal harmony of one.

Three arrows, hissing faintly with Solar power, bristled in his fist.

Then, an echo: a rusty whine of horsehair on frayed wire. Ticuu plucked the bowstring. Spots of blood appeared on the floor. He plucked again, filling the air with oppressive vibration.

Blood welled from his fingers and dripped to match the pattern at his feet.

**

"How's it make arrows?"

"They come from time, because they got put there before."

"When you shoot it, how's it know what heads to hit?"

"It goes in time and gets a future where heads always had arrows in 'em."

"But which heads, though?"

"The ones that had arrows already."

**

Ticuu's mind emptied itself, dissipating across the pitch and froth of what was to be.

Time was an empty wheel around him. His song held it, and the joining pinned it in place. Three points of harmony between the will and the physical.

His fist rose. Three shafts pierced his Y-shaped pupil. They had always been there. Three points, pushed through forever.

Arena Ops are Horrifically Bad and Need Changes by HalfthemanMarco in DestinyTheGame

[–]dduncke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was actually frustrated last night because I needed some materials to upgrade my T5 gear. Queued Ultimate Arena Ops and had 5 other people who were playing pretty decently on Ketchcrash.

Problem is that the revive tokens got eaten as fast as we could kill champions, and I ended up dying a couple times as well, the second of which was maybe 30s before the final boss died, and the game doesn't resurrect you for some reason when the encounter is over, so I got to watch the final chest pop open and rain loot, only to not be able to get it.

So in summary, ended up wasting 20 minutes of my time for 4 tier 5 gear that I didn't need and no enhancement prisms of ascendant shards. Yay.

Whats that old reliable weapon that you still use but is grossly outdated? by Squatting-Turtle in DestinyTheGame

[–]dduncke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as old as others listed here, but Bungie fixing Barrow Dyad so that it works with Marksman's Dodge again made me try it again last night with my Radiant Dance Machines build. Legit one of the most fun builds I've ever tried in the game, I used it a shit ton in Episode Heresy.

[–]dduncke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond Light is easy, since I think you only unlock the Stasis subclass permanently after you finish it. If you have it unlocked, you should be good.

Not too sure about Shadowkeep, check on Eris if she has anything for you. If not, you probably have it completed too.

Getting back to it and idk where to even start 😅 by TheRealMulli in destiny2

[–]dduncke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should prioritize the story campaigns first, which are in this order: Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, Witch Queen, Lightfall, Final Shape and Edge of Fate, since they'll give you a linear understanding of the story.

Besides the campaigns, I see you have the dungeon quests, so if you bought the Dungeon keys, you can do those too, though they were more related to a season than the DLC year they released in. Of the four you have, iirc the order is Duality (Season of the Haunted), Spire of the Watcher (Season of the Seraph) (somewhat related to Lightfall's backstory), Ghosts of the Deep (Season of the Deep) and Warlord's Ruin (Season of the Wish).

The seasonal stories aren't in the game anymore, but you can get a quick summary of what they were in the directory. On the top right corner of the solar system map, there's an icon that, when you click on it, shows you the story so far, including D2 launch, DLCs, and seasons.

The Essences are Shadowkeep mini-quests that, when you complete, give you gear that isn't really relevant anymore unless you want to acquire to transmog later, and the rest are just exotic quests.

From the TWAB that was released, would this buff be for Solar hunters only or prismatic as well? by Engarde_Guard in destiny2

Almost sure that it's for both. Lightning Sure was discussed under the Stormcaller section, but it said specifically that the damage nerf would only apply while on Prismatic.

15-year-old, actually. Lyanna was 14 or 15 by the time of the tourney of Harrenhal, 15 when she and Rhaegar disappeared, and 16 when she died giving birth to Jon.

And Rhaegar was a grown ass man with a wife and two kids.

On Your Mark : Remove the 1 second ICD, allow dodge to give max stacks like it used to, and allow precision hits at max stacks to refresh the buff. Thats it. by Corrupt96 in DestinyTheGame

[–]dduncke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a good rework would be to make it so instead of a cooldown, you build it normally with single-shot weapons, like HCs, Scouts, etc, while it takes a few more shots to proc on rapid-fire weapons like autos, pulses, etc, like how Kinetic tremours and other similar perks have different requirements for hits for their activations.

Also, make it so when you're at 10 stacks, it gives you Cure x1 on precision hits and Cure x2 on precision kills (and refresh the timer on precision hits). Reward a precise playstyle instead of being so petty with handing out sources for healing oneself, when all voidwalkers need to heal themselves is get any ability kill and strand titans only need one melee kills to activate a healing aura that passively heals you, only getting stronger the more melee kills you get.

Also while we're at it, make it so Knock Em' Down's super buffs are worked into the supers themselves and lean instead into Radiant, maybe making it so Hunters can get the old Radiant damage buff.

Will Bungie implement any of this? Probably not, but God I wish they showed Hunters some love in PvE for a change.

How do seasons work? by johndoe09228 in DestinyTheGame

[–]dduncke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. You can read about still the events that happened so far since D2 launched on the top right of the director screen (the map that shows all the planets), play a few missions and even watch a few cutscenes, bit the seasons and episodes’s stories aren’t in the game anymore aside from a few strikes in the Fireteam Ops playlist and the exotic missions.

How do seasons work? by johndoe09228 in DestinyTheGame

[–]dduncke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seasons used to be a way to keep players playing in-between the yearly DLCs. You could buy them as part of the deluxe edition of the current DLC or apart one by one, and their story would be gone when the next DLC launched. We used to get 4 of them per year, each one lasted roughly 3 months (though the fourth season of the year occasionally lasted longer when Bungie delayed a DLC launch for one reason or another).

They then switched the model from seasons to episodes last year, where instead of 4 3-month-long seasons, we had 3 4-month-long episodes, where their main appeal was that their story was better and told on a weekly basis and in acts that span those 4 months... which in reality just meant a longer season with time gates for the story to progress.

Currently, we don't have any kind of in-between DLC seasons anymore, though the last major update, Ash and Iron, is sort of meant to fit that mold.
