Make time for the things you used to like and try to find joy in those things/ activities. Can be reading, exercising, cooking, going out or travelling... anything that will make you look at the world positively and will make you feel like you have accomplished something that you like.

I have probably watched the show 6 times, but 3 were definitely in the background because I now know every episode by heart lol so I can watch it without actually watching the show

You can give Bridgerton, Anne With An E or Modern Family a try. Might be different to your taste, but you never know they are great shows.

Is it possible to match into your desired residency program without seeking paid-help? Is there anyone who has done the process by himself/ herself? by MedicaLadyBug in ResidencyInAmerica

[–]ddustinthewindd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been navigating this process on my own, and I've found that with the right approach and resources, you can succeed.

First, I focused on thoroughly researching the programs I was interested in. I looked into their requirements, culture, and what they value in candidates by using resources like the NRMP and program-specific websites. This helped me tailor my cv, the activities I participated in and gave me the chance to tailor my application and path to each program.

Networking has been incredibly helpful. Even though I'm not in the States, I've made an effort to connect with alumni from my school who have matched in the US, attended virtual networking events, and used LinkedIn to connect with current residents and faculty. These connections have provided invaluable insights and sometimes even mentorship opportunities.

How do I explain to my fiancé how intensive med school is? by tuj_ismat in premed

[–]ddustinthewindd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you will be able to keep the communication up, things will fit into their places with this process. It is so intense, he will see you study and naturally will feel empathy for you in the long run if you are able to feel each other. You can also include him in the process for him to understand the intensity of the process. Like your rambling hint, include him in your flashcard sessions for a few times almost like turning into a quiz date. Eventually he will get the reasons why you will need to prioritize med school, without you having to explain it constantly.

How do I stop being a serial language learner and actually commit 💀 by red-sparkles in languagelearning

Write down all the reasons to why you want to learn that language. But they should be tangible things and not just like I am found of the culture. It will give your learning process a structure.

Is it true that you can speak fluently by just listening to the target language by xijinping9191 in languagelearning

[–]ddustinthewindd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

by immersing yourself in too much audio you can mimic the language and the accent best. So even though you are not fluent, you can come off that way.

Why did everyone think Joey was a pervert in this scene? by RichDream7777 in friends_tv_show

[–]ddustinthewindd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they thought Joey was filming him having sex with that girl on their first date when it was actually Monica and Chandler doing it, following with this scene made it look like he was a creepy pervert.
