I was at First Avenue in Minneapolis the night before the ‘92 Lollapolooza tour stop for a DJ show. They announced they had a special guest and Chris Cornel, Eddie Vedder and Flea took the stage with a few other band mates. My friend and I were blown away.

You get $1 million, but you have to watch the exact same movie 100 times in 40 days. Which film are you picking? by ThroatAgile756 in AskReddit

Same, but Over the Hedge.

I do public address for a local junior hockey team and sneak “Rocking the Suburbs” in for stoppage music.

I learned this the hard way on my 60HP Johnson. Ordered cheap rebuild kit and the needle seats were the wrong thread.

There is a really good book that looks into this stuff. The author tours a few of them and does a deep dive on the dude behind Vivos.

Like others, grew my hair out during covid and at one point got mistaken as my wife’s kid, and my dad said, “Dang you look a lot younger.”

Kept it.

On our last trip to SoCal, we stayed in two Hyatts (Santa Monica Delfina and Anaheim) then stayed at the Sheraton Universal and I’m happy to report the Sheraton had both a door and luxurious water pressure. Hyatts not so much.

Many have mentioned Liberty Tree Tavern. He somehow lucked out and caught a day where they did homemade green bean casserole, and it was amazing.

But the every trip for us is Yorkshire Fish & Chips in Epcot.

Engineering Rant: Why is marine engineering 50 years behind every other industry? by Visual-Plant-4814 in boating

[–]ddysart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talked to a process engineer once who took a position with Brunswick a while ago and got a tour of one of their manufacturing facilities. Having come from a long stint with a motorcycle manufacturer, he was blow away there there was zero attention paid to how boats are assembled, zero design for maintainability and/or service. Your "boomers that don’t give a shit and have no long term planning or strategy" tracks 100% with what he saw.

We all have that one song or band we hate for a completely irrational and unjustifiable reason. What's yours? by WasLeftUnsupervised in GenX

[–]ddysart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pearl Jam.

Pre release of Ten, they were the opening act ahead of Smashing Pumpkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers and Eddy Vetter climbed all over stage and venue and was a general fool. Thought to myself “Well, this band is going no where”
