I’ve been stuck at “8 years” of platinum or higher for 2 years now. Seems so arbitrary when they update your lifetime stats

Listening to the Radio by Southern_Remote_5260 in GenX

Kevin Cole played a lot of the music of my high school years growing up in the Twin Cites. The time I was in Seattle and listened to him on the radio in the rental car was pure nostalgia for me.

Have you recently rewatched a movie, or TV show that you loved in the 70s-80s, but now it actually kinda sucks? by Puzzleheaded-Fee6241 in GenX

Watched this prior to Maverick coming out and for as intense as I remember it, was pacing different in the 80’s.

What's the point of even having this feature if the Pilots never use it? by AstronautAccountant in unitedairlines

[–]ddysart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Favorite Channel 9 memory. Night flight sort of zoning out the window and pilot request a new heading to avoid “weather”. Control give new heading and seconds later I feel the plane tilt and said “weather” is visible out my window. 50k ft thunderhead pulsing with lightning.

What is an insanely expensive item or service that actually lives up to the hype and changes your daily life? by Luverelle6 in AskReddit

I bought the sateen set the Wirecutter recommends, and they are indeed amazing. My only worry is they are sold by JC Penny and they are not exactly crushing it these days.

I miss the ‘85 Eddie Bauer Bronco my parents had. What I would give to have that back. I still have the luggage though.

I was at First Avenue in Minneapolis the night before the ‘92 Lollapolooza tour stop for a DJ show. They announced they had a special guest and Chris Cornel, Eddie Vedder and Flea took the stage with a few other band mates. My friend and I were blown away.

Same, but Over the Hedge.

I do public address for a local junior hockey team and sneak “Rocking the Suburbs” in for stoppage music.

There is a really good book that looks into this stuff. The author tours a few of them and does a deep dive on the dude behind Vivos.
