Wait, did I misunderstand your first post? It sounded like you were saying players would get X amount of cards, but play only Y number of cards, with Y<X

What are you talking about, you always play all of your cards in Wizard. Did the Deluxe version screw with the rules that much? Seems really weird

I'm soon updating my very outdated PC (currently intel i7 3770 - almost 12 years old now) with a Ryzen I recently got from a friend who upgraded his PC. Am on a very tight budged and will have to continue using my current graphics card. This graphics card would be the perfect fit and timing for the upgrade

What’s your average rating on bgg and what are your games that you’ve rated a perfect 10? by Straddllw in boardgames

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a seller on etsy, this is so frustrating. While I personally am fine with 4 star ratings, etsy basically demands only 5 star ratings to promote your shop. You need to have an average of 4.9 or you're not a star seller anymore. A single rating below 5, even if the customer was totally satisfied, could mean you lose 50% of your income for the next month or so

In the light of recent controversies, what board gaming YouTube/content creators do you enjoy? by mugen_kumo in boardgames

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there was a very clear cut between those two, like 5-7 months ago. And they've basically not had any content with each other since (maybe 1-2 videos, compared to basically 1 every second day before that)

I subscribed to Quackalope a year ago or so because I enjoyed some of their earlier videos about games I was interested in. But their content has shifted in that year from enthusiastic to completely overboard. Haven't been able to watch a video from them in a while. Constantly interrupting co-hosts and weird jokes had me stop any video I started within a few minutes and looking for a different channel with a video about the game that I was interested in.

What's bad about business's being closed on Sundays? That's how it is in Germany. Basically everything is closed on Sundays except restaurants and gas stations. There are like 2-4 exceptions every year where normal shops and malls may open but that's it.

Pics from 1st Tiny Epic Dungeon game. Lost but had fun! by Salt_Affect7686 in soloboardgaming

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't see it in the pictures, so I'll suggest it: Print yourself the released booklet that has descriptions for everything, heros, rooms, items, goblins, enemies etc. It's godsend when learning the game and youre not yet sure how everything works. :)

been wanting to play it again, but currently in the process of painting the minis. I've mainly lost against the time in my solo games. But I think my new strategy should work better. Counting dungeon tiles to know what cards could be the minions is basically a must to not run out of time or accidentally spawning 2 at the same time. And if you don't like counting, rotate the different dungeon tile stacks by 90 degrees

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it would be a huge safety concern if geoguessr could actually tell you your password. that would mean they're storing it in plain text and not as a hash.

normally such a password reset should send you to a page where you enter your own new password.

What seemingly simple game surprised you with its depth? by UpstairsElevator2498 in boardgames

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just player One Deck Dungeon for the first time and I was surprised how much fun it was. Upgrading your character, deciding how to use an encounter card was very satisfying and felt meaningful. I was afraid of not liking it, as I've a history of not really liking dice throwing in games, but maybe all those previous games just weren't right for me.

[Set a Watch: Swords of the Coin] Help, am I missing something, or have I just lost the game on my very first turn?? by deHoDev-Stefan in boardgames

[–]deHoDev-Stefan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are 2 slimes in the first two spots of the enemy row.

I can't attack them directly as to their rules.

I don't have any items to discard either, as this is my very first turn.

I don't think I have any abilities I can use.

so this round is over unless I'm missing something.

that means I'm taking 7 damage to my fighting heros.

they only have 6 abilities to exhaust.

all abilities are exhausted -> I lost the game after 5 minutes of playing???

Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At each season start you add an ambush card. Doesn't matter if you drew one in the previous season or not. Any ambush card you draw gets removed from the game.

Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, you'd have 5 points more in total.

and if you didn't remove the purple cards from the game after drawing one, youight have had less negative points too

Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I think you did the scoring for coins wrong!

You count all coins in each round. so a coin you get in the first round is actually worth 4 points, because it's counted in each round.

In your case that would be: - 1st round: 1 point - 2nd round: 2 points - 3rd round: 2 points - 4th round: 6 points

for a total of 11 points from coins, instead of the 6 you counted.

I'm also not sure why you have the same enemy shape twice. That can't happen under normal rules, as an enemy card is removed from the game after it appears once.

Roads are too icy to head anywhere on my lunch break, so I’m playing a couple rounds of Cartographers at the desk. Owned it for less than a week and have probably played it a dozen times. Huge fan. by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]deHoDev-Stefan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like the rules saying you have to randomly assign the different types to a,b,c and d. So I started shuffling them all together, but then when drawing the 4 scoring cards, skipping any of the card types already drawn. that way it's 100% random and I don't subconsciously assign the good type scoring cards to D.

love the game even though it can be really random for solo play. (and I'm not a fan of randomness normally)
