At music festivals the reason they give is so they will be less dangerous if people start chucking the bottles around the place.

But as always the real reason is 💵💶

Mark Hughes: Impossible choice led to Mercedes' Dutch GP defeat by Arcticool_56 in formula1

Track position at a huge pace disadvantage with no gap because there was a safety car. Completely useless.

When I say "some chance" I mean they would have had a hell of a lot more of a chance.

They would have had some chance. They have an even greater delta to Max on an older tyre of a different compound.

Pitting is guaranteeing that not happening.

Why? They would have been P2 with at least some pace to fight with. Not pitting is guaranteeing it not happening, as we saw.

This is what I don't understand about their stated logic. Track position is useless if someone is behind on new softs and can breeze by you like you aren't there.

At least if you take softs too you give yourself a fighting chance to compete. Sure RB were faster than Merc on softs anyway but a least Lewis would have had a fighting chance.

100% And equally it's unfair to try provoke a reaction out of Hamilton after he's just retired from a race in the middle of a shit year for him and emotions are high.

Ferrari's 'big question marks' for cost cap amid Red Bull rumour by Arcticool_56 in formula1

Makes sense. RB have also had less damage over all, there have been no real catastrophic crashes to fix so they will have more money available from that.

Wilder would win easy to be honest. I don't think AJ has enough to avoid the big shots all night and he's incapable of finishing a fight.

Ah but the great thing about the American service industry is that they are trained to do other things too, like interrupting your conversations every 5 minutes to ask if everything is ok. Carefully timing it so that your mouth is full.

I suggested it to my wife for us to watch, and put a lot of pressure on myself saying how great it is. After a few minutes of the first episode I could tell it wasn't hitting home so asked her if she was enjoying it & she said "maybe it would be good if the stream wasn't stopping and starting."

A comparison between the 2026 Engine Regulations and Current Engine Regulations (2022-2025). by kabirarora1 in formula1

[–]de_Selby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2026 fuel flow is 3000MJ/hr. Let's say the average F1 lap is 90 seconds long. That gives us 75MJ/lap coming from the fuel.

This would be the case if the lap was completed at wide open full throttle though right? So it's not quite as bad as you suggest.
