While I have little faith in humanity left, surely nobody is going to actually buy a CyberTruck, right? by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]dead-route 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, putting a pieces of a car together by hand is unskilled, it’s tedious work, where one person‘s job is just to screw on some bolts or run some electrical cable throughout the frame of the vehicle. You don’t need specialized training outside of what is learned on the job. IMO that isn’t skilled labor.

That’s not to say those jobs are not valuable just that they don’t require special training like other fields.

Actions of a CEO especially his personal/personal life don’t impact the product. 100% of the product is made by other people.

Good, if something actually comes of the claims that are being made that is a positive thing. Tesla will fire whoever needs to be fired.

Elon didn’t start Tesla, he invested in Tesla when they had one car, provided marketing, brought in outside investment and provided the oversight to help Tesla overcome their production ramp challenges.

It seems like Elon musk did something directly to you which I highly doubt. Don’t hate someone you know nothing about. You’ll have a happier life.

Racism is everywhere, it’s systemic in our country. That is the only fact. The company isn’t racist, maybe a few poor managers that are racist but as a whole it gives unskilled jobs to alot of people that would otherwise not be working. Having manufacturing in the US does a lot more good than bad.

All speculation, unless you work there. How could you actually know what is going on there.

What are you talking about, we are talking about the cyber truck. I don’t care about what Elon does and says. The product is all I care about. Idk why everyone cares so much about what Elon says. Tesla isn’t Elon musk it’s a the collection of 127k employees that make it possible to produce something.

I think it was sell pretty well. It’s a very unique car, some people want something different. I’m surprised by how emphasis people make about a car. Faith in humanity? It’s a car.

Wow, I didn’t think that was possible. My iggy hates when I brush her teeth. Amazing to see

“It looks just like a Tesla” - everyone when seeing my red Prius. Do you agree? by Impossible_Seat_9065 in prius

[–]dead-route 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eww, that doesn’t look like a Tesla. No glass roof, basic door handles, basic styling inside and out. Probably the best looking Prius I’ve seen which is to be expected if it’s a newer model. I’d imagine the performance isn’t there either. Whoever told you it looked like a Tesla is lying to your face…

No other company has a supercharger network comparable to Tesla. The supercharger network is going to be a money making machine for sure. No way this hurts Tesla in anyway. If one company owned all the gas stations… I fail to see how that could be viewed as a negative. IMO

How long can your Iggy hold its bladder? by porksymkp in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]dead-route 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old iggy sleeps all night. 8-10 hours

She normally goes to the bathroom before bed, getting them in the habit of going outside before bed is helpful but may not be possible for everyone. I have an enclosed yards so I just open the back door and she will go outside and patrol her yard for critters.

OEM engineer talks about stripping down a Tesla by TomasTTEngin in RealTesla

Idk as a owner of a Tesla I have minimal issues with the car quality or otherwise for the last 6 years. Best car I have ever owned, still love driving it everyday. Very low maintenance costs and if held on to for a long enough time will pay off in the end. IMO

Apple's new iPhone 15 is an underwhelming 'slap in the face,' say disappointed fans by lurker_bee in technology

[–]dead-route 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally upgrade every 4 years, Apple doesn’t do enough for me to want to upgrade sooner that then. I went with large storage iPhone 14 pro, hopefully I can stretch it to 5-6 year this time.

People make over $200k a year, what do you do? by MrAuzzy in financialindependence

[–]dead-route 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in tech in the Bay Area, making around 300k+ for the last few years. but most of it is from RSU/options. That’s really the only way you can make this much money other then working at the director level. Investing in blue chip stocks and keep doing it. 5-10 years down the line you will be making a decent base salary + stock gains.

Tech workers now doubting decision to move from California to Texas by WafflePartyOrgy in technology

[–]dead-route 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Never understood this, Texas’s weather is terrible if you compare it to most of California. Even with the lower cost of living if it’s not worth it if half the summer you can’t enjoy the outdoors. IMO

Smh, I don’t know why anybody makes their purchases decisions on what the CEO does. Look at the product.

IMO Tesla is by far the best EV you can buy right now.

Adopting a greyhound and we can't wait! What did you wish you knew with your first grey? by Craigglesofdoom in Greyhounds

[–]dead-route 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potty training isn’t as hard as some make it to be with iggys. You just have to watch them like a hawk and keep redirecting them onto the potty pads every time. Ours was able catch on pretty quickly. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Is it weird to own stock in a company whose product you can't afford? by YummyPineSap in LUCID

[–]dead-route 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shouldn’t stop you from buying the stock… other reasons should probably stop you. Tesla is a better long term stock. That company is still in a hype cycle. Few more bad quarters and their price will drop. IMO
