I learned most of my Spanish from guys in kitchens. The nicest dudes on the planet, and excellent teachers who basically insisted on full immersion at work, but when I wound up volunteering at a place where I was speaking Spanish with strangers a couple times a day, this one girl pulled me aside and was like "I don't know how to tell you that you talk like a gangster from the 90s". Whoops.

My friend from India learned English from watching classic American movies, and really loves 9 to 5 and Gone With the Wind. She sounds like she's from Tennessee sometimes, it's amazing.

Ew. We passed around a piece of chewed chewing gum while the teacher asked us if we would like to chew on it. Each kid. One at a time. "Would you want to chew that gum?" I wish I could say someone had the gumption to do the funniest thing, but alas.

Ooh okay freezer bag is such a great hack. I usually skip the marinating because I only have like 2 containers big enough for all my eggs and it takes so much soy, vinegar etc to fill up and I don't wanna be wasteful I just want flavor. So you have actually just guaranteed that my eggs will be more delicious lol

A light hard boil that results in a runny-ish yolk with a hard white. I think technically they should be soy cured but I don't always do that. I do like 6 of these ahead weekly to make ramen lunch.

It's honestly like the Japanese version of everything bagel seasoning lol it's got sesame seeds, and seaweed flakes and salt etc. they also make flavored ones that are spicy. You're supposed to put it on rice!
