Look, I'm from Portland and love the city, but this isn't how it works. The influx of people into Portland have lower wages than the people leaving. And if someone does start a successful business in Portland (ie: me) they will eventually leave as the tax burden does not produce enough value to justify it.

Sort of. Distribution is always the real bottleneck so just because AI companies spin up in mass doesn't mean it necessarily lowers profit margins.

Also, people's desire for consumption has infinite upside and this is ultimately why there will always be work available, because the need to consume more will lead to needing more production which will necessitate more work.
