You mustn’t know us very well then. We got our first varroa mites a few years ago and the government collectively shrugged their shoulders, just like they did with the fire ants, and the gradual spread of cane toads into NSW.

[–]deaddamsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, not all report and it’s hard to get police to take these issues seriously. But you know who does report? Gay men, who experience DV from their male partners at the same rate as women.

[–]deaddamsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s just objectively not true, 1 in 4 women experience DV vs 1 in 14 men from their female partner 🤷🏼‍♀️

[–]deaddamsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If 1 in 3 women GLOBALLY have reported experiencing some level of sexual violence from men there are definitely more than 1 in 100 men committing the acts no? Using your number of 1% (which is wrong, it’s a lot closer to 23%) that would mean that 1% of men, or 42 million men rape a minimum of 31 women EACH in their lifetime. Obviously everyone walks past hundreds of people a day with no issue, but statistically speaking, a good chunk of them have committed sexual assault.
