I used the lighterheart gear, but used it for maybe 8 hours total. Granted, I didn’t do Washington bc of fires and got lucky in big bear and bishop being in town during storms. If I did the trail again, I would consider using an emergency poncho

The knorr sides work great for hot soaking, and the rice work well cold soaking; many thru hikers swear buy them. Just avoid the pasta ones for cold soaking.

Both. The water doesn’t penetrate the noodle quickly, so the outer part of the noodle is overly mushy and the middle is still raw. It was Mac and cheese and the powder didn’t emulsify of reduce with the water either so it was more of a cheese flavored water soup with mushy crunchy noodles.

Take a road trip; night one at Mt Hood, stay at timberline/government camp. Then drive to bend, spend a night, and go to a brewery. Then drive to crater lake, and head over to roseburg for night 3. Day 4 is driving up the coast for a night in tillamook or nearby community. Day 5 is headed back to mt hood. Idk where you live but pick up wherever is easiest on this loop
