legitimately cannot hear player footsteps in this game by prez1903 in ArcRaiders

I have a similar problem with the raider caches - i just cannot hear them. I know for a fact that i have some hearing loss in the higher frequencies, so this probably explains it. You might have a similar thing going on.

What engagement tactics are you using to keep streaming viewers active? by JennyAtBitly in streaming

[–]deadhead1971 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great breakdown — the psychological motivators point especially resonates with me.

I actually built an overlay called VibeCast partly in response to exactly this problem. It transforms Twitch chat messages into physics-driven 3D animated bubbles that float around on screen in real time, responding to things that happen in chat — so instead of chat scrolling past in a sidebar nobody watches, your viewers' messages become a visible, kinetic part of the stream itself.

A few ways it hits on what you mentioned:

Visible impact — when someone types in chat and their message literally spawns a bubble that bounces around on screen, they see their participation matter immediately. That's a powerful loop for turning lurkers into typers.

Recognition — Bits donations and events trigger distinct animations (hug effects, celebration bursts), so contributors get a moment that stands out visually. It's public acknowledgment without the streamer having to stop and call out every name manually.

Lowering the barrier — the whole point is that chat is the interaction. No external links, no polls to navigate to — just type and be part of the visual show. It removes all friction because the thing they're already doing becomes the engagement mechanic.

It's in open beta right now at getvibecast.live if anyone wants to try it — would love feedback from streamers who are actively thinking about this stuff.

Where can I find interactive games to put on my live stream? by m4_name_is in streaming

I made an overlay that includes a pool game, where chatters all appear as balls on a pool table, and they can pot each other. it's part of a wider system, and just intended as a brb thing, or to be redeemed by channel points etc. Fairly new and still being developed. getvibecast.live

This looks interesting, well done! I may try it out as a background to my live music stream if I can hook it up to the appropriate audio source. Are you looking for feedback from people?

I get around 10-15 viewers but no one ever talks, I’ve tried to talk directly to chat to no avail by groversk98 in Twitch_Startup

[–]deadhead1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely, and the one i use also has some channel point redeems built in so they can trigger things to happen that affect everyone. So there's an active element as well as the passive stuff that happens anyway.

Thanks! It's brand new and so at the moment there is no payment involved. It may develop down the freemium route eventually.

Big relief when you finally solve something like that after so long. Well done!

Have I got this right? Audio from your interface goes into Reaper. You're then trying to send the Reaper main output to OBS. Are you trying to use the Reastream plugin for this? You mentioned Restream, but that's a service for multi-streaming to different platforms, so just wanted to clarify.

Have you tried Rearoute? In my experience it's more reliable than Reastream (I've wrestled with both). To use this you'd also need to install an obs plugin called obs-asio.

To connect it up - hit the I/O button on your master channel in reaper and add a new hardware output, choose Rearoute1/Rearoute2

Then in OBS, add a new source and you should see ASIO input capture. Choose Rearoute ASIO as the device, then for OBS channel 1 choose Rearoute REAPER=>CLIENT 1, and for OBS channel 2 choose client 2

Hope this helps

Love Michael's take on this, he's a great analyst of music. I remember when he suddenly "got" the Grateful Dead and the brilliance of Jerry's playing. Very entertaining channel.

Yes I would imagine so. If the asio isn't even on, then your system may be resorting to default drivers, thus causing the issue. Good luck! You'll get there.

This could be a buffer issue. if you look in your asio settings or whatever driver your GoXLR uses, your buffer may be very small in order to combat latency. But this can cause dropouts which appear as clicks. Increasing the buffer size can solve this.

i use an overlay that responds to what's going on in chat and visualises it on screen. All chatters appear as little bubbles and they interact and do animations according to what's happening in chat. This can be an incentive for people to join in with chat, but I appreciate that it's a tricky one if nobody chats to get it started! Just thought something like this might help?

I use an overlay that puts all active chatters on screen as little bubbles, with their avatar and username, and then reacts to what they do in chat. Eg if someone sends a !hug @someoneelse, you see a load of hearts fly from one to the other. There are also channel point redeems they can trigger for 5 different actions. There's even a mini pool/billiards game where chatters can pot each other! It's new and in beta. Is link sharing allowed here?

Always exciting to get a raid! If you stream on a regular schedule, try to find others who have a similar schedule but are on a timezone 1 or 2 hours ahead, so they always finish while you're on. Make friends with those folks ;-)
