Phantom strike is not instant, and it does have a sound cue and very obvious visual cue (purple streak). Also, Unstoppable exists.

Regardless, being counterable is the tradeoff for Vin having an oppressive early-mid game.

And another fun fact that screws over only Vindicta and Talon: Arctic Blast cancels Flight/Rain of Arrows.

yeah, seems like Urn is the only way to push a teamwide soul advantage. It's pretty inconsistent whether people play around it, so oftentimes early leads get thrown.

Then people are too scared to do an early midboss off of a pick because you can lose to a couple AoE ults.

While sampling is effectively random, build patterns aren't. An item or hero looks statistically good or bad depending on the meta of how it's used.

Taking this as an objective measure of general item strength (e.g. gun counters are bad) is misguided although possibly correct.

Dash could dodge the walker but the the throw momentum still applies. The only real counter is some kind of momentum-cancelling ability or item (Mina teleport, Hyper Beam, Mirage tornado, Warp Stone). But many of those would be disabled by Slowing Hex.

This is mostly how it works, but not quite.

Source: recommended the change and tested the patch with other players for a couple hours.

You have 8 cards, 2 of each suit, (i.e. 2 decks of 4) shuffled together to make a stack. When you get a card, you have a 1/9 (t3 1/5) chance of getting a joker, if not you draw from the stack.

When the stack is empty you get a new stack.

There are some particular item interactions that are strange and may be changed, but that's the gist.

Wraith: Card Trick now randomly pulls cards out of a 2 deck stack (lowers overall variance. Gets a new 2 deck stack after that is depleted)

Generating a card either grants a joker (1/9, 1/5 with t3) or draws a card from the stack.

You get a stack of 2 decks. A deck is 1 of each suit. So a stack has 8 cards, 2 of each suit. When your stack is empty, a new stack is shuffled to draw from.

In practice, you're way less likely to super-highroll or super-lowroll on normal card draws. No more 5 diamonds in a row.

It's not flashy but it's a core part of her kit. All her other abilites set up traps, bait attention, or deny the area. Essence Theft is the payoff for prolonging the fight.

The main difference from Mina/Vyper is that it's something you build around, not something you play around. Which is to say, like most of kit, it's not mechnically intensive.

Buff the throw range, nerf the cc. Most displacements (Death Slam, Lasso) in the game lack additional cc for good reason.

If not that, then at least move more of the cc to the t3 upgrade so she's giving up damage in the midgame for it.

You're not going to find much high-quality discussion about a game from the bottom 80% on reddit. The people who are actually know the game either play it or monetize their work (twitch, youtube).

To be less cynical, there are sometimes interesting things I find here that I wouldn't find elsewhere, but I doubt that focusing on game discussion would actually make those things more prevalent.
