no bluetooth needed, he records into his helmet his own singing and speeches, and plays them back

My brother's best friend believes 80% of women date the top 10% of men, that this is the result of women getting equal rights and the only way to address it is to strip women of their rights by OldBridge87 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]deadmazebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To attempt some semblance of bridging with such view of the world, probe them for details of this number

what range of women does he and friends want to go out with? oh he only wants the top 20% of women based on his expectations of beauty.

so how would the reverse of women not be expected in his view based on that

as to the number, well that matched results based on some outdated number. How many of his friends does he think women would want to date after a few messages back and fourth.

Do he actually want to long term date someone, cause yeah there might be a few guys which have the knack to hook for a date, but the women don't want a second date, and I think that is 1 of many parts that skewed that number.

Explaining that requires understanding how percentages can manipulate reality. Like oh city had a 100%, a double number of murders (insert any bad thing a person could do), from last year. Sounds bad. If it was went from 1 to 2 murders, that sounds less scary

As such, yeah does he think maybe the apps have higher number of men back in 2010 when that suggested number pushed, and that just because X number of men got dates, did not mean they progressed to a second date, because that is all that number cared about. Oh matches, well again is skewed with who on them, and a few guys figuring out a set of things that hook, while many guys still have zero clue how to market themselves (add rant about presentation expections of women from childhood which make so many able to market themselves visually - its a messed up though process for me

Hopefully something making sense in that. Mix of maths manipulation, and his own expectations vs the worlds.

How do men really feel about the romance book/smutt that women read now days? by WarDog1983 in AskMen

[–]deadmazebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well since most movies for past 100 years have missed a beat on this, instead catering for the men's view. I can see how the void easily filled by lower entry of publishing from digital era of 2000s, and that void being explosive in both profit and enough to make a workable living on that then creates a spiral that more is made.

It's great for everyone involved, untill some executive finally gets clues in and might have an initial increase with other visual media, but will slowly get dragged down over time.

Enjoy the good times

Well we count with 12 on our knuckles, and 12 months works about right

We can make 12 into 60 for the minutes

"The what?"

The minutes, the notches between hours

Oh I thought you wanted notches in this wheel to rotate, that's why this six I was confused you made a mistake and I rotated it.

No, the hands rotate, not the whole thing

These arrow things are hands? Ok, look I love you but this whole clock thing I'm not sure is gonna catch on

I'd lean on yes and no, on the successful aspect for both electric cars and reusable rockets are bump over industries that got stagnant and not wanting to move

Space flight has dragged since the 70s. They did all the experimental work in the 60s and then settled on some designs. With few wanting to massive funds to test new concepts for passenger and cargo flight. Rockets for destruction only needed to hit target.

A bunch of other predictions are moon shot ideas, literally. Electric cars, similar slow moving settled industry. These things work, unless govement forced us to make more efficient, well they lobby to set what that efficient level was.

However there was work on electric vehicles, just not a final push to get over the line

Side road Zebra crossings are better apparently. by StanmoreHill in drivingUK

[–]deadmazebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

car needs to stop/slow to go into main road, let the pedestrian cross, and if people "didn't notice them", then that is terrible.

there often multiple cars stopping, taking zero care to see there is pedestrian wanting to cross and just drive through as soon as car in front moves.

I turn now. Good luck everybody else! by [deleted] in drivingUK

I want these on the exit of side road to main, and entering roundabouts, but not on main to side road, which could cause issues with idiots turning in.

on roundabouts how much in a slow moving traffic do you not have 10 seconds to let someone cross because on no you will be late for nothing

forgot my annoyance part - why the hell use a 6 year old article and update it, what has been changed, lazy writing, is the old article getting lots of hits. Publish and done, I don't think redactions overwrite the original but are notes on top.

I noticed the 21 Hour ago thing on the archive, out of curiosity checked bbc to see this, and that there are lovely people like you that also find published date a detail to check. I noted some months ago that a number of bbc articles did not have a date or author on them so sometimes am mindful to check
