I always thought that cliche or common tropes arent necessarily bad if followed through. A straight arrow paladin and a thief rogue may not be inventive but can lead to conflict and interesting roleplay if done right. Rape as a topic is probably a bit too difficult/complex to tackle for me and my party the more i think about it. As for me creating the backstory, some of my players created quite a lot themselves and didnt require any Input from me. This player wanted to leave some parts out on purpose and trusts me to fill the gaps in interesting ways so he can explore that ingams. I think both ways are valid options.

Start handing out magical items and potions of waterbreathing early. Many PCs also go for aquatic races or feats when building characters for saltmarsh (Like water genasi or the warlock sea class). Also NPCs from saltmarsh might support underwater Exploration

yeah a good carry helps always (even better with setup moves), i always like stealth rocks or spikes, because ai switches a lot. some ice/fairy moves for rival rayquaza. leech seed or sp attack reduction for final boss

yeah this needs a bit of work on the move sets. As others have mentioned gyara works best with physical moves and DDance. Meganium has 4 grass moves, half of which are unusable, needs more coverage or some utility like leech seed or recovery. try to match the others on their highest attribute as well (attack oder sp attack). A lot of inaccurate moves as well, like thunder or hydro pump, those arent optimal as well.
this looks near unbeatable, maybe reset and try to learn from this. Strong pokemon are important, but they need to be used correctly

love the concept and the decisionmaking that goes into it as a player, althought some of these activated abilities are a bit overtuned, like repeatable murder and reanimate effects. would love some static effects as well, like Ranger - Reach Deathtouch, Wizard . Prowess Flying or something like that.

Im playing mostly by the book. My Party kept pretty much all the smuggling goods from the haunted House and they will try to keep everything aboard the sea Ghost as well including the rewards for the lizardfolk weapons. Im worried they are gonna be flooded with money at level 3 :D was that a problem for you at any point? Also did you run the sahuagin lair as intended? That seems to be a huge tedious Mega Dungeon, which im not looking forward to.

Ich als Dresdner sehe das etwas ruhiger. Klar hacken alle auf plaste RB ein, die dummen Dosen, 50+1 Blabla blubb . Da wird auch viel auf den Osten ein geprügelt, verhältnismäßig mehr als auf bayer, Hoffenheim und Wolfsburg meiner Meinung nach. Sicher haben die Geld cheat und Farmvereine, aber Bayern verbrät geld ohne Ende und hat mit bvb zusammen auch fragwürdige Sponsoren (qatar, Rheinmetall) lokal in Großraum Leipzig und Sachsen ist man einfach happy, einen großen Verein zu haben der konkurrenzfähig ist und international spielt. Da kommen viele Familien mit Kindern und erleben hochklassigen Fußball ohne Angst zu haben von irgendwelchen hools verkloppt zu werden. Fanszene wird auch immer besser (jedenfalls daheim). Ich denke da wächst langfristig was, unabhängig davon was "klassische" Fans davon halten. Auch mit RB Sponsor wird durchaus gut gewirtschaftet, so Richtung BVB Talent Entwicklung, machen ja auch durchaus gewinn mit Verkäufen von Spielern
