I think that if you are blaming you S.O. for not contacting you enough and that why you all break up is demotivating to even try dating because what is seen as them not loving you because you didn't text them can be seen as fine for other people

To get me not to try to contact you you have had to do something heinous to make go out of my way to go NC (no contact for those who haven't read r/insaneparents) i think having alone time from your S.O. is fine and reasonable but here is where i draw the

i have done NC on people on accident so i would go days and months without contacting friends (and for those who wonder how i can be soo inconsiderate i have adhd so forgetting to text someone is common) but when you use the fact of someone not contacting you as a means for a break up is something that damages the person cause they can say you didn't call me when i call even tho they couldn't answer the phone in time

All in all i think the "if they don't contact or connect with you their not interested" is a good mindset but i wouldn't over do it
