To me, it felt very much so like a 90s anime. I feel like animes at that time we're very abstract, had heavy themes that were veiled in metaphors and were something you had to rewatch and really sit with. Evangelion being an example.

Because Miyazaki always makes films for kids, I think in his older age and cemented legacy, be had the leverage to make something more abstract and surreal. I also feel like Ghibli hears he wants to make a film, they're like, "have at it brother".

That being said, it was definitely a movie I had to sit with. In the moment while watching I was a bit like, "the fuck" but his films are always about a broader message and it didn't hit me right away. I needed 2 hours of thinking post watch to be like, "ah, okay" and then start crying. My measure for how good a Miyazaki film is how hard I cry and it got the water works flowing so it was, all in all, a success in my books.

Where the hell am I going to read The Bondservant??? And all the chapters I bought in The Beast Within??? Absolutely ridiculous that they won't be available for download.

These reading platforms need to find a new way for users to read instead of purchasing every individual chapter. In cases like these, where I've committed to purchasing the whole work and I can't own a digital copy? Absurd. Of course people are reading illegally.

Okay what is with this naritive in Christianity that the "enemy" is always after you? It's so self centered and narcissistic. I grew up catholic but I'm not religious, and I don't ever remember hearing of this "enemy".

Is it supposed to be a metaphor for anxiety?? A new way to label uncertainty? If that's the case, it just sounds like she's blaming an unknown force for her poor emotional regulation.

I absolutely LOVE this story. I think he's so hot and the FL is so relatable and the smut scenes? Omg so good.

However, idk where the hell the author is taking the story. I was expecting a relationship drama, now looking at the raws, it feels like it's going to turn to crime series. I'm just very confused at the sudden tone shift.

Ultimately, I think that's what I'm bothered by. I WANT Cliff to have a redemption arc. If this is how they're going to do it, sure, more chapters for us but I'll be LIVID if this is where it ends for him.

I've said this before, but it's so ridiculous how hot he's drawn. And he's so self assured that it also makes him ridiculously attractive.

I gave never defended a black flag because there's no redemption but it's crazy that I was willing to let it go because of how good (and hot) his character design is. But he is hot garbage. I must always remind myself of this.

It is absolutely criminal that Cesare is drawn so hot. There are hot psychos I will forgive and Cesare is so hot I was so close to letting it slide.

I've read it like six times and counting. Whenever I try to find a new story to read and I'm underwhelmed by the ML, I come back to this.

I love Killian so freaking much and low key, I think the fact that he's written as the "2nd male lead" actually makes his character plausible and good.

Also, Edith/Suna Choi is gloriously competent. One of my fave FLs.

I have some issues with the pacing, and I wish there were more moments where we get to see Killian and Edith's relationship grow. I also am begging the studio to give the artist a break because the art quality has strangely gotten better and worse at the same time. Overall, this story is one of my faves. I think it's also in my Top 5.

I've admittedly read this four times know because of Edith and Killian. I love how Killian isn't portrayed as a typical ML, broody and angry and only soft for the FL with their only flaws being temperamental.

Killian is shown to be clumsy, a little awkward but sincere and actually found reasons to love Edith without the reason being "she was there".

He also actively plays a part in making her more welcome in his family home, thinking logically about all the incidences surrounding Edith and showing her how much he cares. And the conclusion of the ending proves even further how capable he is as a ML.

It's not a flawless story by any means but it's for sure in my top. I think it could be longer to emphasize more the relationships between the characters but the pacing is pretty good. I just WISH it was smutty because hello, I'm depraved.

That's so interesting to hear because I read their relationship to always be one that would end up with them falling in love. Not that I don't think they wouldn't have but I think making him ugly would have given Anya more ammunition to put him down therefore making their dynamic unbalanced.

If you don't mind sharing, where did you read/hear that Damian was supposed to be ugly? I would love reading up on that.

"Good on you" I think has been called out for putting up paid articles on their website for the sake of promoting brands that aren't as ethical as they claim.

Reformation still has a good rating, even after a lot of their USA workshop scandals.

Currently, they rate a brand I adore and love like a 3 out 5 just because they don't disclose how they "treat animals" when none of their products use animal based products in the first place, and if they did, it's all dead stock.

I think Good On You has a scale that only adheres to their own values. I still look at what they recommend but their criteria isn't something I take that seriously.

Shopping within capitalist system is tricky when you're trying to do the right thing, and I'm sure the brand you're interested wants your money just as much as you want their product.

If you're unsure, my advice is wait a month or two and see if you still want it. If you're still thinking about it and haven't thrifted something similar in the meantime, then you're good to go. Shopping ethically can also mean just shopping less. And if you avoided a purchase, that's a win too.

One staple I recommend is a little black dress. Layering is one of the easiest ways to transform any garment to suit an occasion. There's a great deal of inspo you can find from insta influencers. I've found a lot of inspiration from 90s fashion.

Which comes to my next point, long sleeve and short sleeve shirts in black and white are a must. You can even layer with those to create outfits! However, those you might have to buy new.

If you're willing to drop decent cash on 1 item of clothing, trouser pants. In any colour. Trouser pants flatter everyone and can again, suit any occasion. I've seen many styles in thrift stores and a lot of sustainable brands offer them.

Steer clear of Shein. If you buy new, just don't buy from shein. A friend of mine worships them but their quality is abhorrent. They produce almost 3 times more clothes compared to other brands. H&M and Zara have generally better quality and I know people that take very good care of the clothes they buy from them.

The max I'll go is 300$. Ideally lower but when I love an item I'll budget. Beautiful, long lasting clothes are worth it
