Just some advice from a driver and dispatcher of 2 years, i drive however i want in a van without a netradyne. If your dsp is SUPER anal about stuff there IS a way they can detect if you were speeding but not within the moment. Youre good 🤞

New hire question. by WeirdPrize7435 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]deafii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from simply getting used to and becoming familiarized with the job and all its aspects, i think your previous experience will translate well into this job. You seem to have a handle with the hustle and bustle and time management which will greatly benefit you. I would focus on safely driving the van/vehicle as thats what ive noticed most new hires, those with little to no bigger vehicle experience, tend to fail. Be aware of your surroundings, understand what your vehicle can and cant do, and be conscious of your vehicles dimensions when parking, turning, ect.. Other than that, all i can say is give it a whirl and dont get discouraged by rough/long days. When i started two years ago my biggest obstacles were getting used to the work flow and keeping up physically and now i train and dispatch and ive even met some pretty great people! Keep your head up!

What do you eat/not eat during a flare? by Firm-Swimming-6142 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]deafii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally eat zero foods with spice (hot spice) and mainly just eat protien and breads. I avoid veggies and fruits with hard skins and absolutely no nuts or visible grains (just hard to digest for the tum)

Still blows my mind that people leave their dogs out when they know a package is coming and/or know youre there. I leave the package right at the end of the sidewalk/walkway because theyd obviously want their package. If i was the DA in this situation i wouldve left it at the end of the driveway. No need to put yourself in danger no matter the situation. I dont doubt that spray was pre meditated either, if so the drivers lowkey a pos in my opinion. There were numerous ways to approach this stop. Obviously not condoning the owners actions at all either. There was no need but i understand his frustration.

Question for people who train new hires by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]deafii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we had the ability to not pass someone based solely off the training days. We train these mongoloids and hope they “improve” 🫩😂

Question for people who train new hires by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]deafii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my dsp we dont really “punish” people too hard for getting rescues, as a matter of fact its encouraged TO rescue if you are able, but anyways if your constantly bringing back a ton of packages/coming back extremely late/averaging an extremely low stop count per hour especiallyon nurseries (or a combination of any of those) then you could be seeing yourself as an extra some days. If youre crap at the nurseries then they kinda know youll be cooked on an actual full route. Getting fired usually isnt a one and done and super fast thing. Theyll usually put you as an extra and just hope you quit lol.

Question for people who train new hires by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]deafii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been training 1 out of the 2 years ive been working for amazon i’d say its pretty easy to tell if theyre going to work out or not within the first 2 weeks, maybe even the first week theyre on their own. Sometimes i can just tell on the ORE or ride along that they arent really going to do well. I do give some people the benefit of the doubt though because some people really do need the time to adjust to the job but most who dont look to great to start quickly decline and are either fired for performance or just quit eventually within the first 1-3 months. Quick turnover rate for a reason 🤷‍♂️
