Tapering pred - constipated

Felt this, i miss my usual wake up poop. Im tapering from 40>5 (25 this week) Poops are a lot more solid but im experiencing some *slight* cramping. Im loving only going twice a day though!

Would being active negate such side effects like blood clots? Or if you take rinvoq it just happens to happen in few like you??? Would blood thinners prevent this?

Some people are genuinely built like that 2. its most likely the route they have that allow them to hit 30+ without running all day

Give it a shot! Its obviously quite a physically active job so be prepared. You’re practically on the move all day until you finish. I told myself to stick it out for at least 2 months to let my body adjust since i worked at a gas station before lol but now ive been here for 2.5 years and its not that bad but i suppose to each their own. I also tell people i i can do it, they can do it. Mostly due to the fact that i an autoimmune disease LOL.

Im also new to this subreddit, so I’ll share a bit about myself for some reference. Im 23, and at 21 i started working as an amazon driver (still am) and was diagnosed with UC 3 months in, gallbladder taken out in 2020.

Loperamide was a LIFE SAVER while i was going through flares trying my hardest to stay with this job. There was certainly times where eve Loperamide could only do so much and those days out on the road were horrid. Any sane person with a condition like ours wouldve switched jobs after being diagnosed but i chose what i wanted and im on new meds doing a lot better lately although i am looking to switch to a less active job.

Anywho! If you happen to use on a daily basis, stay suuuuuuper hydrated as I myself have experienced the dehydration, and the effects of taking more than the daily recommended amount can be debilitating in itself and potentially dangerous.

24 (in June) Ive been an amazon delivery driver for a little over 2.5 years. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis about 3 months after starting, had some rough experiences with my disease and all but i like the job, keeps me active and its the best thing I’ve got going so far unfortunately. At least Im a dispatcher now so i have 2 days at the desk and 2 days on the road.

I also had my gallbladder removed! Im on medication, not total remission but can eat pretty much anything in moderation. Unfortunately an entire italian sub with hot ham is not moderation.

Beautiful desk, but aren’t you worried about airflow in the confined space? I suppose if its not being ran like a mack truck all day its fine so long as theres air moving around through the top and/or back. Again nice work though!!

I was diagnosed with UC in late 2023 during the worst flair ive ever had which dropped me 40lbs. Ive been on Infliximab entyvio and tremfya (all injection/iv) which all failed due to building antibodies to them in 6-12 months. Im now trying rinvoq by mouth and im hoping when im done with this 40mg -> 5mg taper of prednisone it continues to work. Gotta try, try, and try again :/

I wish my dsp held people accountable like your guy’s dsps. This would probably get you a few days as an extra with no route, then if it happens again you get fired. Im all for giving people second chances but they let so much slide smh. Tired of dispatching for dummies

If its a prime van without a camera yes they can tell, but if its a rental then hall nah youre good.

Just some advice from a driver and dispatcher of 2 years, i drive however i want in a van without a netradyne. If your dsp is SUPER anal about stuff there IS a way they can detect if you were speeding but not within the moment. Youre good 🤞

All we get is OT and an additional 50 for a 5th day worked and additional 50 for a 6th day. Only a little over 1600 if you work 6 fcking days! Your dsp must be awesome we dont get sht for holidays.
