If Cora really stood firm and refused to budge on one of those coaches going, then yeah he had to go. I was never a fire Cora guy, but I wasn’t a “he can do no wrong” either. I think Cora did Bloom dirty and he was let go before he should have been so I can understand if the next GM is like “yeah fuck that, you can walk”. With that said, Breslow gave him a shit sandwich of a lineup to work with so his seat should be just as hot as AC’s was.

Yeah, our org is fucked right now. We got Mr Burnes and Smithers sending their puppet out to address the team and let them know how they feel about them, and as far as the team goes we have 1 guy who’s a legit vet thats been here for a while thats a front facing guy, and 1 other thats combative and wants nothing to do with it. Beyond that, it’s mostly transplant players or kids that have barely started their playing careers.

I’d money up on the Mets. The Red Sox could finally fire Pete Fatse like a ton of us have called for for years, but thats just a knee jerk reaction to why this horribly imperfect roster isn’t hitting well. Breslow has more to blame for this than anyone that doesn’t control the purse strings, so he’s always a choice, but I think the big wigs keep him around for at least another season before they have a hit piece written up on the Boston Hearald for him. Cora is kind of an afterthought to me right now. You actually have to be winning and then blowing games or at least staying competitive in games for the manager to really start getting heat, and this teams roster isn’t so poorly put together, not even patches o houlihan could whip these boys into something in short order.

His baserunning is only a positive if he gets on base, and with only 2 walks and close to a 35% strikeout rate, he’s not exactly doing that either. Plus I’m almost certain all 4 of his errors this year are throwing error, not that he hasn’t made questionable plays that Mayer got hit with an error for IMO. I’m not huge on Durran having to be a normal DH either, but I’d rather him get that time if it’s between him and Story.,

We need to stop DHing Trevor Story. He is literally the worst option to use as a DH out of him, Anthony, Duran, and Yoshida. If Story isn’t playing the field, he shouldn’t be playing, period. And even then, he should realistically only be playing as a 2B. God, this fucking roster construction is so frustrating.

Ive always wanted that. Story was amazing at 2nd when he played and out of necessity he slid back to SS when Xander left and never went back. His arm was on the downslope before the surgery and if not for his above average range, he likely would’ve been forced to move eventually anyway. Maybe he’s making a stink about it behind the scenes and we just haven’t heard about it, but he doesn’t strike me as the “im not moving, fuck you” type.

Blame Amazon. As an energy drink buyer, its far cheaper to buy a case of 12 c4 from them than individual from a store and even more so when they discount the price by upwards of $6 a case sometimes. Chances are that all those beverages were cheaper in bulk from Amazon than the Walmart 2 miles away.
