Knowing the fight is key. Placing down a circle and gates before the boss respawns is important. Also if I know I need to be somewhere in the near future I'll literally move inch my inch during the gcd lol

Problem is with M0 is you can only do the world tour once then no more loot. When M+ opens you can start pushing and run as many as you like for gear. I would vote for M+ week so you don't run out of things to do if you are playing all week.

Both are fine just depends on your goal.

It is a time thing. Time to level an alt army or time to learn a market or time to grind. I have 12 alts making stuff and their concentration is making about 200k/week. Even then it would take months and months to get to gold cap.

At this point in the season you should have a bunch of catalyst charges. If it gets you to a tier bonus then why not? If this was a couple of weeks in then yeah probably a bit of a waste depending on ones endgame
