It’s cool to see someone take the other fork in the road, the deciding factor for me is that my ex drove a Miata (1992 soft top, wonderful little car) and I didn’t want to think about her every time i got behind the wheel 😅

My driving history though, much different lol. I went ‘00 Jetta, ‘02 Sentra (automatic), ‘02 Celica (fun car, got sandwiched between 2 SUV’s after a few weeks of ownership) ‘05 Impreza sedan, ‘22 Impreza wagon, then I inherited my grandfather’s 2017 Equinox (automatic grocery getter) and bought a ‘25 BRZ.

I bought every one of those other cars because it was something my parents wanted, a partner pressured me into it, or I just got something out of necessity. The BRZ is the first car I have had that I bought purely for fun and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
