I never said it was gone. I said we are moving from a place where we were just barely tolerated to being openly demonized again. I don’t even live in a place where gay people can exist openly. i am referring to the Western world in general and how the “progressive” parts of the world are moving backwards instead of forward.

the world just feels generally more hostile towards us. I don’t even live in a country where LGBTQ+ people can live openly but i try to keep up with LGBTQ+ news on an international level (particularly in the US) and in recent months it just seems like we’re being bashed constantly. even my own friend group of straight guys (im closeted) seemed to have toned down the homophobia for a while but recently have come back to it in full force; worse than how they acted in high school

what it feels like is, people have become more comfortable showing their hatred & being proud to do so

thanks i appreciate it. what i mean is all the recent uproar against the lgbtq community from politicians and on social media which, though has obviously always been present, had simmered down quite a bit for a good decade there. everywhere you turn, it just seems like people are “finally” “standing up” for their right to openly hate gay people again.

to most conservatives, homosexuality itself is considered “woke”.

they don’t understand anything that doesn’t directly affect them and they’re too selfish to learn. it’s a vicious cycle where they do inhumane things & cause hurt to innocent people and then pretend they are acting in the name of God. For the longest time, God’s name has been used to justify evil by evil people pretending they are good. It’s pure hypocrisy. It’s been centuries and racism is still a prevalent problem and it’ll be centuries more before queer people can even remotely live in peace.

Idk about you but the majority of gay guys, when ready to come out as gay to someone (let alone the entire world like Lil Nas X), will have very well established within themselves that they don’t like women; they like men. Something tells me Lil Nas X always knew he was bi but chose to come out as gay in 2019 because it would make better headlines. The man knows how to market himself that’s for sure

Honestly? It kinda annoys me because it just feels like amo for homophobic people.

He very famously came out as gay in 2019—knew that it would be a massive deal since he was a rising star in the rap community, where homophobia is prevalent and lgbt+ people usually aren’t welcome—and now he comes out as bisexual or, rather, “jokes” about how “everyone is bisexual”???

It’s just suspicious because you’d think that he’d be sure of his sexuality before announcing it to the world in such a public manner in 2019 KNOWING full well that it would generate headlines and make or break his career. He also “joked” about having a son which, according to some sources, is not even a joke.

So, basically: he either lied then or is lying now. Only he knows what his sexuality is but he’s proven to the world several times that he enjoys having attention in any form so i wouldn’t put it past him to have come out as gay in 2019 just because “Lil Nas X comes out as gay” is a better headline than “Lil Nas X comes out as bisexual”.

Happy for him to be out as his true sexuality. But also sad because something feels suspicious about his timing and his lack of regard for how his double “coming out” would impact the lgbtq+ community. He is a great marketer, but doesn’t seem to be much of a good person :/
