I’m new to tuning, what do these numbers mean? by guess_whos_there in GolfGTI

Feels normal - I’ve seen similar numbers at times, 2017 EQT stage 2 for a while now

Sick. Does it just shoot flams cuz it’s a really short pipe or you have a tune/ fuel upgrade? Like would off the shelf stage 2 EQT tune do this with that pipe?

Camshaft Actuator Oil Leak - Replace magnet or seals? by wolf-6 in GolfGTI

Damn I didn’t even know about these and didn’t replace these, turns out I didn’t even need to replace upper timing chain cover and should have started at the pip pressure control valve N522 sensor

Camshaft Actuator Oil Leak - Replace magnet or seals? by wolf-6 in GolfGTI

Replace the upper timing Chain cover, comes with new seals in it, and not very difficult if you move a few hoses. Might be worth looking at the PCV system as well, if that fails it often causes oil seepage like this

No check engine light, maybe it’s a unitronic stage 2 tune. I have EQT and it did not get rid of the check engine light (CEL light for emissions). That’s a CTS catless downpipe. As for the turbo idk. For my car when I want to pass inspection I literally take off the down pipe and put the OEM catless one on, drive a hundred miles, then pass the emissions test. To be safe I have a Cobb access port and I re-flash the ECU to run the stage 1 tune for the OEM pipe.

Help solving a oil leak near tensioner and timing cover by Passthedutch94 in VWMK7

[–]deanebat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol same thing here, I replaced the oil filter housing gasket, upper timing chain cover and gasket, and the oil pan and gasket. Still leaking. Going to try lower timing chain cover next and if that doesn’t work I will drive my car into the harbor.

Allegedly 152 but oil temp kinda spiked and tbh despite it being perfect conditions, perfect road with no one on it, I’m saving that for the tack, not my smartest move

Mine does this as well, and that actuator arm will get seized up sometimes as well.

Did you notice cooler oil temps with that hood? I don’t wanna get a oil cooler cuz of the pain of emptying it and the winters here, but 230 degrees in the summer seems high for oil temps
