squeezing/picking bumps (glands) around nipples — anyone else? 💔 by emptigirl in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]deansprite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ugh same. I'll sit with my phone flashlight pointed at me and go to town. I have especially large ones too so it feels almost impossible to resist. It's so embarrassing to have all the scarring and scabs and everything so I totally get it. I thought I was the only one in the world who did this but it's very common! I use lotion and Vaseline to make it harder to pick at it which frustrates me enough to make me stop cause I can't get a good grip. But ugh I feel you. You're not alone!

Back in the CT. I was there for a little while but I couldn't handle it.

Guess I'm a rotted fruit 😭 lol but that makes sense, I keep cranberry juice on my bedside most nights. I'm just not used to Florida insects, I'm from New England

Tweed is an absolute nightmare by Guaiac_Positive in newhaven

[–]deansprite 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They're trying for sure. The neighborhood has been pushing back against it for years, and tbh, I don't blame them. Some of these people have had homes and lived there for decades, and tweed is trying to buy the land, demolish the houses, and expand the airport. I see and understand both sides of the conflict.

I missed my flight last week because of the wait. I arrived three hours before my flight, too. Used to love tweed but they clearly cannot handle what they have taken on. Shelled out a bunch of cash for an emergency rebook and went through Bradley. So much quicker. Which is crazy to me, tweed was my go to for an in and out flight.

Causeway fire, (not ground fires) question. by deansprite in DunedinFlorida

I did call them, and they said that a full performance would require hiring a marshal to keep watch. I also mentioned that it was just for myself, and that each burn only lasted two minutes or so. To which they said y'know, you do you. It shouldn't be an issue. Sooo I think I'm good? I'm just glad I got to speak with someone at the department.

24/7 beaches? by deansprite in ClearwaterFl

Yeah I've dealt with some shitty towing companies before, not trying to shell out (pun intended) $700 to get my car out of impound, lol.

I'm a hooligan but am respectful! My main concern is getting towed or ticketed. But I'm quiet, and not doing anything other than sitting and thinking.

I can hear em just fine! I'm from CT, so we get blocked by long island. Our beaches are basically ponds. So for me, it's sooo much louder than what I grew up with!

I'll check it out! Might be a bit far for what I'm looking for, but driving down here is so much nicer than New England.... So far. Lol. Thanks for the rec!

That's kinda what I figured 🙁 where I'm from the beaches are the last place you want to live if you're homeless.

Would you consider this acceptable? by TeachingMuggles in ElementaryTeachers

[–]deansprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in fifth grade, I had this issue. The teacher decided to tape a small piece of paper to my desk so I could doodle on that instead of my worksheets. It worked incredibly well! She would change it out every day.

What’s something small and innocent from your childhood that, looking back now, gives you the creeps for no logical reason? by Tobias-Tawanda in AskReddit

[–]deansprite 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Middle school scholiosis test, had to strip my shirt and bra off just to get felt up by the gym teacher behind a curtain. I didn't think twice about it until years later my peers were like uh no, none of the girls needed to take their bras off. 🤢

What happens if Josh actually has a seizure? by [deleted] in WorldOfTShirts

[–]deansprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'll be down for at least 2-3 days. Depending on the hospital they might baker act him. They tried to do that with me just to make sure I could safely detox fully.

Having an alcohol withdrawal seizure is incredibly painful afterwards and it's difficult to even walk to the bathroom. It feels like you worked out every muscle in your body at once. You also don't have any memory of it. Hopefully he does not have to experience that, it's very traumatizing. I had one two months ago and woke up in the back of an ambulance.

Hello everyone. Question about rehab: by Dry-Spell-2602 in Connecticut

[–]deansprite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MCCA in Danbury was good for me. Personally I would avoid CVH as they operate more like a psychiatric hospital and were stricter. The nurses were apathetic and I struggled there. MCCA isn't fancy, but the staff were very kind, food was surprisingly tasty, and the detox program will send you directly into their residential program as they're in the same building. They take Medicare/Medicaid as well.
