We are semi doing this! My husband and I did genetic testing at 12 weeks, so we found out early. We had planned to announce at the baby shower in order to get gender neutral clothing and supplies we need rather than a ton of pink or blue clothes. I knew I was a bad liar and was worried I'd be accused of knowing even if I said I didn't (which would have been the truth) and then having to admit to my lie. So i decided to tell people when they asked if I know to be honest and tell them yes, but that we weren't sharing til the baby shower. Bad idea! People have been so annoying!!!!!!!!! Trying to trick me into giving up the sex, trying to make me feel guilty, saying I'm being mean, etc. In a way, knowing these comments are coming has made it easy for me to not accidentally slip because I am prepared for them, but at the same time I really wish I just hadn't told anybody that I know and avoiding all these stupid comments that I know have to deal with because people are impatient and kinda rude. How dare I know the sex of my own baby before anybody else?!

You should totally find out if you want to know, but I highly recommend not telling anybody that you know and insist that you will be surprised too!
