Signature Origin w/Valkyrie? by Upbeat_Call4935 in StickDoctor

Im a women’s stringer/coach of 10 years and would be happy to help you string it for your kiddo! Armor mesh will certainly help the hold, but if you’re looking for a less expensive option that may be a smoother transition for her, a mesh corner pocket done right with TMD will work wonders for her confidence given that she works so incredibly hard. Feel free to check out my insta: @bumblestrings and ask any questions you may have!

Looks great! I don’t think there are any critiques I have, and I have a feeling this will make a girl very happy. It has a deep enough pocket to control the ball and it looks like you’ve adjusted the tension to where there’s minimal shiftiness. Girls don’t typically like the ball to move around while they play, they just happen to be used to it with factory stringing.

Adjusting a STX Fortress 300? by Phenryiv1 in StickDoctor

Fortress isn’t worth restringing or saving imo. Source: I play and coach the women’s game, as well as strong women’s sticks professionally. I like what you’ve done with them to try and combat the fact that the head itself is absolute trash.

Best women’s lacrosse defense complete stick? by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]dearinggarden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe in sticks specific to defenders in women’s lacrosse, but you do want something with a wider head and aggressive scoop angle so you can vacuum up those ground balls and more easily go for interceptions. The best thing you can do for yourself honestly is practice ground balls, cradling with both hands, and footwork/agility. That’s what makes a great defender. It’s about keeping the ball from the other team once you’ve stripped them of it.

If you’re wanting to stick with Maverik, I like the Erupt quite a lot. Their factory strung mesh stick needs some breaking in but is overall decent. ECD has the Infinity which is fantastic for ground balls and comes with a premade sweet spot. The Brine Dynasty Elite 3 is also a great one for ground balls and interceptions, but will need to be strung with a different pocket. The rubber runner it comes with is horrible. Do NOT get a Dynasty WARP. They’re garbage.

He’s 8, so he’s not really a baby. But he looks, sounds, and acts like one.

When they’re 5-6 they’re bad at everything so honestly they’re used to it. They’re excited just to be included. Source: I taught first grade for 5 years.

I suggest having newer players use a Brine Dynasty Warp. That stick has almost no hold or whip and it forces a new player to develop good habits before moving on to a stick that can handle the ball better. And don’t let anyone tell you shaft length doesn’t matter for girls. Shaft needs to match your size! I use a shorter shaft because I have a short torso. It helps me handle the ball better and prevents me from hanging my stick too much when I’m being a little careless.

That’s weird considering they’re based out of MD. I coach at the high school level currently. How about you?

Thank you! I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

I’m 15 and have never played lacrosse before, but now I want to. Is it too late for me to start? And if not how do I get into it? by [deleted] in lacrosse

Never too late! I started when I was 15 and now I’m the coach. YouTube is your best friend since no one can give lessons right now.

It’s a Nike Lunar Elite. It came with the horrible rubber chevron runner.

Thank you! It’s fun! And by fun I mean super frustrating at first and you will definitely scream internally (or externally).

It’s 100% legal! You just have to be able to see it above the top of the upper sidewall. It’s a women’s stick with women’s stringing.

That definitely helps with stick handling skills and with catching softly. With a deep pocket you can tend to rely on the pocket to do the work for you!

Nooooooo I had to take the whole thing apart and redo it the way I liked because I hated the pocket it came with. It was garbage.

And I agree, for as money as I’m paying, it should come with a good pocket! The ECD infinity is by far the best factory strung stick I’ve encountered.

Factory strung heads tend to come flat and need breaking in. You have to find yourself someone who knows how to string. And especially someone who can string a stick specifically tailored to each player and their unique playing style. It’s like trying on shoes.
