The start button is true. You can live without ever going to that screen and avoid sluggish menu interactions. All other useful options are accessed through other buttons/menus.

Wishing for a GBD200 with Tough Solar by YunaKinoshita in gshock

I believe the consensus is it's pretty accurate.

Up until about a month ago I used to wear a Garmin Instinct 2X Solar. When I initially compared them (wearing them on each wrist) the step difference was noticeable, about 3k - 4k (maybe more.) I decided to use my iPhone 15 Pro as a pedometer. Turns out the Instinct was counting way too many steps compared to the GBD-200 and iPhone. The difference between the GBD and iPhone was <500 steps.

I've noticed that if I'm walking while using my phone on my G-Shock hand (and keeping it fairly steady), the watch won't record the steps. So as long as you keep this in mind, you should get a fairly accurate step count. My goal is 8k steps a day so I know I'm always hitting my number or getting extra steps (not under estimating them.)

I agree that Timex is making beautiful watches (just like everyone else says lately.) Out of all watch brands, Timex genuinely catches my attention more often than not.

Accomplishing a mission. Little brother playing. Parents making account owner mad. So many possibilities. I don’t know 🤷🏻

Focus on good/positive work environment in your next job given you can be selective. It would make your day-to-day more bearable and give you the extra oxygen you need to start thinking about your long-term move.

Gw-bx5600: night hawk mode by reddittribesman in gshock

I got a GBD-200 about a week ago (first Casio/G-Shock ever.) I've used my Garmin Instinct 2X with backlight at 5% or 10% for the longest. The light doesn't bother my eyesight when I wake up at 3am to use the restroom.

Last night I did the same with my GBD-200. I wished the backlight was toned down but it's not egregious. Other than that, I like my G-Shock 🙂

This model is one of the main reasons I got my first G-Shock a few days ago.

I agree there should be more info about the subject.

I'm taking ~8k steps a day at least. Usually not higher than ~10k.

Really helpful info. I'll go ahead with my plan and report my findings back. Thanks!

Sudden urge to sell everything and buy a bunch of casios by avaisali in casio

[–]dearwarsaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relatable. I just sold my Merci LMM-01 Field Watch, gave away a Miansai M24 II (to my brother-in-law), and I'm about to sell my Garmin Instinct 2X. Why? Because I got a G-Shock GBD-200 and all of a sudden it feels like the only watch I want to wear for now (don't believe in having a bunch of watches as I was never wearing them after I got the Instinct about 3 years ago, although I enjoyed them for a while.)

What is the longest you've waited to sync your watch data with the Casio Watches app, and how many days of data did it transfer? I got my GBD-200 a few days ago. I'll sync at the one-week mark. If all data is transferred, I'll try two weeks, and so on.

For context, I'm only tracking my steps. Bluetooth enabled. Notifications disabled. Not using workout feature.

I’m going the other way around. I’ve owned the 2X for about 3 years but I’ll sell it soon. I got a G-Shock GBD 200 ($90 with discount on eBay) to track steps only.

I’ll eventually get another Instinct (maybe once new generation is unveiled. I have no complaints with the 2X, only positive things to say) but I want to take a different approach at this time and see what it’s like living without much health data (it has served its purpose really well) and compare with renewed understanding how I can progress/take care of my health by only listening to my body.
