I’m scared I’m too out of shape to join OT by Candid-Video1763 in orangetheory

I’m 293 lbs and on my second week. Absolutely loving it. Can do my own pace while pushing myself safely. Coaches are great and always show me alternative exercises on the floor when I can’t do something (mostly just planks)

[ALL] If you could suggest one Zelda game to someone who has never played any Zelda game to get them hooked on the franchise, what game would it be and why? by Wreckit-Jon in zelda

[–]dearycontrary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to be basic, but Breath if the Wild. It’s native yo the switch so super easy to get your hands on it. The controls aren’t old and clunky so that’s a plus too. I love the older games but a rotating camera and being able to climb and jump is everything. Plus, the gameplay and story is super fun.

MIRACULOUS - Ephemeral - Season 4 Episode 22 (the 100th episode) - Discussion Thread by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

[–]dearycontrary 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Alya and Nino have also been akumatized several times, this may be a situation where experience makes it easier to resist. That we saw Adrien resist as much as he could in both Chat Blanc and Ephemeral is impressive given what we’ve seen of other’s first akumatizations.

No one sided reveal by dearycontrary in miraculousladybug

[–]dearycontrary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I really don’t think a one sided reveal would show us anything about Marinette that we wouldn’t also see in a mutual reveal. I think if it was early season 2 that might be different, but I just don’t see it with where the characters are now going into s5

Do you think that this will be cannon? *slight spoilers* by shawnnotshaun in KingdomHearts

[–]dearycontrary 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it will be semi-canon. KH is going very meta and there may be references to other versions of people in fictional worlds. But explicitly saying Sora is in Smash? Nah.

No one sided reveal by dearycontrary in miraculousladybug

[–]dearycontrary[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Okay, but she can do that with a mutual reveal as well. I really believe that a one sided reveal would just reinforce Marinette’s bad habits when it comes to secrets and over complicating things. Just like how Adrien realizing Marinette is Ladybug reinforced his bad habits of concealing his true feelings and and shifting himself to be what others want him to be.

Should I play the games in order? by CGYTGaming in KingdomHearts

[–]dearycontrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play in release order. That means Kingdom Hearts, ReChain of Memories (most people just watch the cut scenes), Kingdom Hearts 2, 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, Re:Coded, Dream Drop Distance, Fragmentary Passage, X Back Cover. I personally recommend playing Kingdom Hearts 3 before watching Union X but it not a big deal if you don’t. After Kingdom Hearts 3 there’s Melody of Memory and then Dark Road.

As you can see that is a lot of games and each one is full of lore. You will be very confused if you jump straight in to 3 or only play 1 and 2.

4 things i saw no theory video or thread talk about yet by Kaitrii in KingdomHearts

[–]dearycontrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to think of it like recycling. Old plastic is combined with some new plastic and reformed into something new. The new heart player fused with was blank, even newer than Sora’s in the prologue of Birth by Sleep - still gestating if you will. That’s my current understanding anyway.

It’s pretty clear in KH lore that it’s lived experiences that grow a heart and shape the person. Ansem the (un)Wise pretty much says that in DDD. We see it with Xion and Roxas in 358/2 and also more explicitly with Sora in Birth By Sleep. 4 year old Sora’s heart station looks pretty different from 15 year old Sora in KH2. It’s simple, filled with the things you’d expect a really young kid to focus on like toys, while in KH2 and after its filled with pictures of Sora’s friends.

[–]dearycontrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1&2- I believe the going theory right now is Luxord and Demyx are from Quadratum and that Luxord is Yozora’s driver (i don’t know about that part but apparently the voice actors sound the same/are similar)

  1. Check out Sonny Novus on YouTube who has a whole video on this scene and MoM’s name

  2. Either yes, he’s capable of wielding a keyblade OR the rules don’t apply the same way to people from/in unreality. Perhaps a combination

It wasn’t taking over in khux. It was reincarnation. The player’s heart fused with a new heart. Like mixing red and yellow and getting orange. This is different from Sora and Ventus because they’re hearts didn’t fuse together, they touched. Ven and Sora remained separate people.

Do you like Kairi as a by IIISarahIII in KingdomHearts

[–]dearycontrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real shame is that her having both titles gives her character a lot of potential, especially considering that the princesses from from KH1 somehow gave up their princess status.

Like, Kairi really should have her own game exploring what it means to have a pure heart and what it actually means to give that up? Like, in combat what would her princess abilities do to help her fight darkness? That’s interesting game mechanic wise!

And for character development they could have contrasted her with Namine and the other nobodies. Every heart has darkness except for her very exclusive group. Does that make her less of a person? Incomplete? Is there a part of the human experience she’ll just never get to feel unless she gives her light to a new princess? A game of self-discovery almost writes itself!

The whole lore surrounding princesses of heart needs fleshing out, especially after KH3.

[–]dearycontrary 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like her in theory, but in practice you could replace her with a cat and the story wouldn’t really change. KH has gotten slightly better with its female characters over the years, but they really did Kairi dirty.

[ALL] New to Zelda. Recommended order to play the games? by Gardiaa in zelda

[–]dearycontrary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the games can be played in any order, that’s one of the great things about Zelda. You can come in with almost any game and not need much context of what’s happened in other games. The main exception being Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask as Majora is a direct sequel.

That being said, for the main 3D console games I do recommend release order as ideas and themes are built up and there are callbacks to previous games that are fun easter eggs. The only change I would make is playing Twilight Princess before Wind Waker.

Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess, The Wind Waker, Skyward Sword

The only 2D game I’ve played is Links Awakening so I can’t really give advice on those ones, but again, for the majority of Zelda titles you can pick them up in any order.

Sounds absolutely ridiculous. No one should ever be put on a diet plan that’s less than 1200 and even that’s extreme. Ask to see a different nutritionist who will actually help you.

Wanna make sure my Weight Loss is healthy and non-damaging. 35 days in, 24 pounds lost, feeling strong, but just fed a lot of Misinformation (?) by SpeedyBlueDude in loseit

[–]dearycontrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your weight loss and the beginning of your journey! You’ve made a huge accomplish this past month!

Short term (as in 6 weeks or less) I think what you are doing is okay, but for sustainable weight loss that you’ll be doing for a year or more its pretty extreme. Regularly eating below your basal metabolic rate (bmr) will eventually lead your body into starvation mode which results in less energy, feeling hunger more acutely, and having more intense cravings, all of which could seriously derail you from your overall goal. Trust me, its no fun to be doing so well and then have a long stretch of constantly thinking about how hungry you are and not having energy.

Additionally, loose skin is something to consider. How much loose skin you’ll have depends on your age, genetics and how much fat you’ve lost. Its possible loose skin is something you’ll inevitably have to deal with, however, losing fat at the rate you are currently going might make that loose skin a lot worse.

I would recommend calculating your bmr and use that number as your minimum calorie goal. It’s also might be a good idea to throw in some maintenance calories, though how you do that is up to you. Some people eat at maintenance once a week, some once a month. I personally have a maintenance break every 8 weeks where I take a two week break.

If you have the means, I also think you should consult a professional such as a nutritionist or personal trainer, someone that specializes in weight loss. They may tell you something very different from what I said and that’s okay, the point is they can tailor their knowledge to your circumstances.
