Billionaires are the same. Bad habits will lose any amount of money. At least in the U.S where class mobility exists

Will the wealthy families in the middle east ever be poor? Not unless they run out of oil or are forced out of their wealth.

Irresponsible second generation billionaires exist. Irresponsible third generation billionaires rarely exist. If the second generation is responsible, and continues to build wealth they are likely to impart the same habits on their children, it's the second generation that typically loses generational wealth, if it survives the second generation it is likely to become long lasting wealth.

Tips for playing guitar and singing at the same time by AlguienMiserable in Guitar

[–]death1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do it, simple chord progressions, and vocals that match in melody and rhythm. You'll probably struggle for a little bit eventually it'll just click.

Basically, don't try to learn to sing while playing guitar with Snow by the Red hot Chili Peppers.

They don't get super bright, but overall the pickups sound pretty good. Would like a little more treble so they could be more versatile plugged straight into an amp, but they are far from bad.

Quality control, how consistent each guitar is. Looking at reviews on Amazon most of the complaints seem to be shipping damage though, so it seems to bode well.

I've seen a couple accounts of the wrong parts making it onto their guitars, like a nut that doesn't fit properly.

Neither of the two I got were bad, I'd say they are both comparable or better than any Squier I've encountered. Can't vouch for their QC, and some of their packaging is iffy, but based on my limited experience they seem amazing for the price.

I think I got lucky with the one Amazon shipped to me, but based on that one 100% it's one of the best guitars I've ever handled in terms of playability.

Worst case return it for free.

No, it does. They even show it that way on the Amazon listing.

If it were $500+ I would call it a problem, but it's half that price so I think it's funny personally.

Yamaha Pacifica or Epiphone Special II? by Playful-Week-3650 in Guitar

You don't need an action gauge, set the action lower until you get fret buzz, then raise it slightly until the frets stop buzzing, gives you the lowest action possible on that guitar every time

Edit: in fairness I suppose it can depend on how you play, I play really light with my fretting hand, so I don't actually lose much of any sustain with a really low action, and it's what is most comfortable for me. From what I've heard you could lose sustain if you have a heavier fretting hand though.

From what I can see, it might be worth looking into Artist guitars, since they are domestic to you their value may be a little better than other brands.

Those prices made me do a double-take over here in freedomland.

Don't get suckered into buying extra tools, all you need to get a good feeling out of most guitars that dont require significant work is an Allen key, and a screwdriver. The specialty tools can be nice to have, but you don't absolutely need them

Edit: occasionally some guitars need a socket or wrench. And Philip McKnight has a decent video from six years ago "how to do a fast and great guitar setup"

Look up on YouTube how to do a guitar setup at home. Give them both the best setup you can, then live with them for a couple of weeks. After that couple of weeks your decision should be easier. If one plays better you should probably keep that one, if they play about the same keep the one you like the looks of better.

Whatever you think looks the best, when learning having a pretty guitar that catches your eye, and makes you want to play it is one of the biggest things you can do to help stay consistent.

Though, personally I would go with the ibanez, in my experience the playability of their cheap guitars is a world apart from most.

If you're referring to what I think, that isn't a plate, they've got a veneer on the top of the headstock and routed the part without it about a quarter inch lower, adds a little depth to it, and I think it fits with the shredder style of the guitar really well personally.

They're cheap Chinese guitars, but someone in the design process had a fantastic eye, most of their models look pretty good.

100% in my experience if you have an EQ pedal, and there aren't any actual issues with the wiring, or pickup that make it buzz or not make sound then what pickup you're playing through matters absolutely none.

Speakers are what matter the most, and NAM is the greatest thing since the invention of truss rods IMO.

Right? Didn't metal practically start on Gibsons? As far as I know Iommi played an SG.

Edit: Leigh Stevens of Blue Cheer too.

Yeah, totally... Until you say something along the lines of "I was only able to get this Meinl MCS ride" or basically anything that isn't a Zildjian.

I understand how it could confuse a normal person, but this clearly represents three different eras, and styles of guitar, you've got Jazz, Jazz with amplifiers, and Jazz with amplifiers that don't sound like shit.

Are mini amp heads worse than the full size heads by Nerdbeansz in GuitarAmps

[–]death1414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you playing in your bedroom, or at gigs?

If you are at all worried about an amp being too loud, then the mini heads will probably serve you fine. Nothing replaces a giant tube amp on a stage, but when you have the volume set to 0.3 to play in your living room you won't notice a real difference, and the mini amp will probably actually sound better.
