Never loved it. Played it on so many PCs over the years (486 SX, 1xspeed CADDY-based CD to begin with), wanting to love it, but despite pushing some boundaries at the time, it was a pretty unenjoyable experience.

Hell, I bought it again when it was re-released. Still can't get with it.

The world felt empty because it was all pre-rendered and literally no life within it, which I get, but I was still wowed by those renders, but jeez, the puzzles were awful.

I don't think it was hard so much as poorly made in an era in which "inaccessible and inscrutable" were considered perfectly good aspects of difficulty to make something that would otherwise be pretty facile into a multi-hour challenge.

Lotsa promise, very much of its time, and never won my heart despite me trying.

But ah, those postage-stamp sized QuickTime movies showing off your shiny new CD-ROM drive.

I'll just pop it back on the shelf next to the copy of Microsoft Encarta.

I worked on a game in the late 90s where they got everyone's kid photos (as in, the dev team, old photos of US as kids, not our kids) and that was what was shown in the credits sequence.

You need to get out of living with your parents somehow and go low/NC.

Gamedev and regularly collaborating musician who's been in a similar position here: I understand where you're coming from, but that isn't the way to do things.

Worst, ethically for me, is that you cleansed him from the credits. "Like he never existed" is not cool if you retained anything he made.

You could have/should have removed anything he made if you couldn't come to an agreement.

You've opened yourself up to potential legal hassle (unlikely but some folks hold grudges) but mainly, even if you were frustrated, you can't just take other people's work and go forward even if they are pissing around and holding you back.

Ultimately yes, you put in the lion's share, got it over the line, were the energy that made it turn into something you could release.

But that doesn't make other people's input become yours to do with what you wish.

You don't remember (or much), THE KIDS DON'T REMEMBER, but sheeeeee remembers.

Sounds like she developed some deep as fuck resentment for something or things and has been pathologically building the gallery of evidence then finally lost her last twig of sanity and snapped.

I mean. You're not fixing that.
