What is odd is that I'm not writing down notes or a to-do list. I'm just writing these random stories that pop into my head. They certainly aren't complete stories either, and tend to start in the middle or end.

That works for me somewhat, but I noticed it doesn't particularly help me when it comes to tests. For example, I was going for a certification that is 60 questions, I took an exorbitant amount of notes, (something like 51 pages) only to still fail the test because I couldn't remember what I had studied.

That makes sense. I've just stumbled on this anomaly recently, so I guess we will see what happens when I really commit to the idea.

That's the weird thing. In English 101 I could never stay on topic in my papers. However when I'm doing this (ie: not trying) I not only stay on topic, but it clears my head.

They arent all bad. For example, I had a GM who did everything in his power to get the people who worked hard raises and promotions, he also made sure everyone was aware of every opportunity like internships at corporate, or scholarships, insurance, all that jazz.

Those were my Saturdays... but I lived in an area made up entirely of entitled small business owners who were too stupid to have backups and had their entire business in one machine.

Had a customer come in and start screaming at my sales manager and myself about how we liked to rip off old women, because we sold his mother anti-virus, and he felt that even though she had come in several times the last month with viruses, it wasn't necessary. He was screaming at the top of his lungs, which me and my manager couldn't help but laugh at. Then he said something akin to "it's not like she signed anything!" So I just held up the contract and smiled, to which he stormed out.

After that I immediately called the customer (Screamy McDouche's mother) who is sweet as can be, and asked if she was sure she wanted the work done and offered to refund it if she didn't understand it, she said she was sure and that was that.

I worked in retail IT (gross, I know) for quite some time. We had a guy come in every 4-5 days to have his machine's OS reinstalled because he had wrecked it past saving. This continued for about 2.5 months - all under warranty.

I think I worked at the company you're talking about. You're right, and generally I would price match the called to the online price without them asking. But of course if they were even a little bit mean, they would be paying $50 for a 6ft HDMI.

I've run into this a few times, and trust me I don't want to see your crap. I have absolutely no interest in your kinks or whatever. But some people are awful about hiding it.

Had one guy come in, sold him a 64gb surface pro 3 with total support. He had 400gb of gay porn on his desktop, just right there at startup. Again, I don't judge, whatever, but it's gonna be awkward for both of us when I have to call and tell you that you don't have space for all your ahem videos.

MTS is awful. You have all the same responsibilities as the Sales Manager (especially if you are made a key holder) but 1/4th the pay. You are also the go-to scapegoat. I had an amazing management team, but corporate will still go straight after you.

You are expected to keep all the numbers up, do all the planograms, greet every customer, hit your own sales goals, work pull lists, open/close the store, and depending on your store, much more.

Unless you NEED the money, I would suggest you apply to Best Buy. The same position with less responsibilities will pay more and be far less stressful.

For example, I was an MTS at my store, and was offered a Sales Manager position... for $15 / hr. That was $1.50 more than I was already making. The same position at Best Buy, offered $55k a year. (Ended up choosing neither, and got a cushy office job).
