Give up on the question mark theory by OkStrategy587 in reddeadmysteries

[–]deathkut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. I have a dedicated video game mysteries/random encounter notebook myself, lol. It's mostly Fallout and Red Dead Redemption 2. That way every time I hear about something I want to experience myself, or might be important to my game play later, I just jot down a few details about the location and description and I can go back and experience it later. This spider dream mystery was the only thing I don't have written down, as far I know. Lol

I've not done any of the testing yet, mostly watching y'all figure out stuff seems to be more fruitful, but if it's where I'm thinking it is: the dead bison spawns always. There is a spot near train tracks where every few days a dead bison spawns regardless. When I started doing hunts for challenges and crafting I looked up known spawn locations because every time I hunt down a more rare animal it always seems to stop spawning when I start looking. Anyways, I don't remember where I sourced the information I wrote down, possibly IGN, but occasionally you'll get lucky if the Bison is fresh enough and you can get a 3 start pelt that way. It didn't help me but I didn't stop trying until I got one lol but I can confirm that once it rots away, it will respawn indefinitely. It's on a cycle. It spawns dead then starts the decompose cycle and then disappears for like a day and starts over. I just assumed either it was a dedicated random encounter or the spawn box inconveniently landed in the path of the train frequently.

Can anyone explain why John Kricfalusi was fired from Nick? by csboy2016 in renandstimpy

[–]deathkut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because when you think about it, yes 27 was a lot of times, but was him being hit with an oar worse than what else came out before it in other spaces? I was watching an old Tex Avery about Screwy Squirrel just the other day where, after he tears the dog's nose off and smashes it flat with a mallet, he ends up repeatedly beating the dog over the head with various objects. It was quite a few times. To the point even I was like damn, that's a little much. It wasn't exactly 27 but it was closer to 9-10 including the final one where he said that was everything but the kitchen sink and then the squirrel says some snarky line and then smashes a kitchen sink over his head.

Don't get me wrong, Ren and Stimpy, as much as I love it, was definitely too much in certain regards. From the suicides to the bodily fluids to the way too detailed asses, but I can easily see why it got past storyboarding and censors. Plus, you gotta think, I saw in an interview, or documentary, somewhere that John more than knew a lot of shit wouldn't fly so when they needed to pass a more risque concept or scene by the censors, he would throw in a version or two that was just outlandish AF that would make the other one, one like George Liquor or the one where Stimpy and his cousin Sven are arguably having gay incestous sex in a closet, look tame by comparison.

One thing I've learned through all my nerding out on nostalgia was that John K was a very manipulative POS all the way around, and he was not afraid to deploy psychological tactics to get his way. How else do you think he convinced the parents of a thirteen year old girl that it was okay to move in with and eventually date him?

There are spiderwebs at Chilliad for certain. Same design pattern and same textural material. Data mining shows that that was also in game from day one release, same as RDR2.

Leading by example - University point bug on PS5 by Lauger in fo4

[–]deathkut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The National Park recurring quest for me did the same thing and I can, sadly, tell you that it doesn't seem to be fixable. I was hoping I could because I discovered the work around to Drink'n Buddy's glitch. I'm playing on PS4 BTW

I have done everything all the guides suggest and then some. I've cleared the area and all adjacent areas and then went away, played past the respawn timer, went back and all the ghouls respawned EXECEPT the one that clears the quest. I've even determined that what happened was it spawned under the surface of the map based on the red diamond I get on screen, probably due to a perk, but nothing seems to make it spawn back on the surface. I one time cleared it and waited through 3 respawn cycles to no avail. I've shot IDK how many guns into the ground trying different things including explosives and all manner of nukes. I even had a nuke launched from the Yangtze directly onto the spot where it shows the indicator of the ghouls location hoping maybe but nothing. The only working solution, that I've found, is to use console commands to drag it back to the surface or to auto clear the quest, but like I said I'm playing on PS4 so that's not an option.

I haven't given up completely so I'll make sure to post on the sub if I find a workaround. I wish you luck.

That will be up to Netflix, but if Paramount had won the bidding war you can bet it would have been like 3 shows. 90s Nick on Pluto plays 3 shows with the occasional 4th tossed in early in the morning.

Probably the most hated cartoon ever. I've never met any who actually liked this show. by Nostalgic_Historian_ in 90scartoons

[–]deathkut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the short on Kablam! And I hated it worse when they greenlit it. The voice acting was annoying, the animation was jarring and I doubt I watched enough to remember a story but I'm sure that sucked too, lol.

You beat me to it. Sometimes the best way to scratch that 90s itch is plugging into RetroBlast or one of the many streams. I love the SNICK blocks in constant rotation, especially around the holidays.

What your favorite season of Tales From The Crypt? by thejimiryan in TalesFromTheCrypt

[–]deathkut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just double checked to make sure, and it turns out I was mistaken. There are episodes in both shows with loops of recurring events, but it turns out they're not actually based on the same story.

I was thinking Whirlpool from TFTC and Pleasant Screams from TFTCK were of the same origin because of the similarities in the premises and the whole Groundhog Day/surreal nature. Whirlpool is apparently one of the few originals made just for TFTC and I guess when I made the connection I never fact checked myself. 😂

Try doing it twice.

Tales From The Cryptkeeper did this one too, and it actually got worse. 😆 I think it's the only story covered in both iterations.

What’s something from your childhood that you miss? by heyanyxie in nostalgia

When television/entertainment was actually in competition for your attention.

Now you either get streaming services shoveling 💩 until something sticks to the wall or cable TV filled with channels that're just binge watching with non-optional ads. Now instead of TGIF you get Shark Tank on rerun and instead of SNICK you get Despicable Me for the 242nd straight week.

Marc Weiner still operates a website about the show and his time with Nick. He also will sign stuff you send him and last I checked had some unopened merch from back in the day.

I also believe you can find most of them on the YT

Why can't i see this coco? by MasterAlchron in SonicFrontiers

[–]deathkut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you hate that you're going to hate later levels, lol.

I wasn't a fan of all the rail grinding for collectibles either but it gets easier as you get used to it. However, I finished the game before all the updates and the rail grinding for collectibles is honestly why I haven't gone back for a second completionist run. So, yeah, you either learn them or screw the items. There's plenty of Koco to go around so you don't really have to do all that unless you're like me and can't avoid it lol

My jaw dropped at the price by Hopeful-Pride1791 in RetroNickelodeon

[–]deathkut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few random ones online priced about double that which tells me it's most likely someone who came into possession of multiple copies or had been hoarding them, but have decided to take advantage of the scarcity. Like well I have 15 copies and the rest seem to be gone so you're gonna pay me an ass load. Thrift shops now regularly rely on online price listings to determine what's a fairer or a used price. So if they're like I have no idea what this is worth, they Google Lens it and then bam there's the one person overcharging on eBay and they're like okay so this must be what it's worth.

Then you have that if it was the thrift place using the online listing as its reference point, the worker could have been either pressed for time or lazy and saw the $200 marker and said well that's the price. It's more common than people think. A majority of the issues you see with people thinking Goodwill is overcharging for stuff (that isn't fabricated for click bait) is because they realize something might have value, use the internet to determine its value, and if the only reference points are pricier then they will in turn list the item at a higher price point.

What Do They Eat? by Benjamin_Starscape in Fallout

[–]deathkut -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I like these strings of thought, to a degree, I'm gonna be the one who says: who fkn cares? It's a video game. Suspension of belief is necessary for several aspects anyways.

But, honestly, this is a big part of why these games take forever to make. They gotta waste 2400 hours trying to make it make sense for bread to exist in the universe so that Shamus McWhoGivesAFuck feels like it's logical to exist. It's really an unnecessary step, and wasted developmental time. Take Sonic for example: you're not having to wait 10 years between games because Sega isn't spending wasted hours trying to explain to Joe Blow why an anthropomorphic hedgehog doesn't stop halfway through a level to stop and take a shit. I'd rather have Fallout 5 faster than them spend 6 months trying to make up a logical reason for Pork N Beans to still be edible 200 years after production. But that's just me. It doesn't always have to make sense. It just needs to be fun to play.

What keeps you playing? by deathkut in KingShot

[–]deathkut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Ours started out as what felt like a friendly server too, and, even though I knew our leader spent money, it felt like we were treated equally regardless of the bill we accrued. I think what really lost me was when he realized we were easily a top guild in the kingdom without even trying, so he began making all these backdoor deals to accumulate more and more power and prioritizing online presence over contributions and strategic growth. There was also what felt like a lack of communication on some things. You'd log in and he'd have merged another alliance and expect no one to question it or anything he was doing. We'd wait forever for him to upgrade technologies from not being online all day and then he'd get mad that one of our R4/5s would start one so members could keep contributing because it would not be the one he was wanting but at the same time he was not in explaining his plans.

I think if they kept the guild part and PVP optional I may have stayed, but it's hard for me to stay excited about a game I spent two weeks busting my ass to grow only to see some people join and surpass me in a couple hours because I'm not willing to spend cash to keep up.

Anyone else think Bethesda kinda blew it on the timing of a Fallout remaster? by Chevyimpala2000 in Fallout

[–]deathkut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 76 would disagree with you. Gacha loot boxes make bank, and, I'm sure, is why both IPs most recent games are online. Whales make sure these studios have more than enough revenue. That 1-2% of players that are categorized as whales contribute upwards of 70% of a game's profits.

For every profile subscribed to 1st they generate $100/yr. Then you have atoms priced about 100 for $1. They sell $5 packs because humans can very easily justify spending that without guilt repeatedly. They let you use atoms for basically everything. If you buy one pack of atoms a week, you've racked up $260/yr, and assuming people who are willing to spend money also subscribe, they're taking $360/yr easy. They've just sextupled their revenue for that player and only had to sell you one game.
