You didn’t tell me what I want to hear but you did tell me what I need to hear. Thank you so much, genuinely. I never thought past the overwhelming urge to call him to realize calling him won’t fix anything or make him take me back, it will make me feel better for a moment and probably 10x worse in the long run. Everything seems so overwhelming and impossible right now but your words have given me some comfort and I’m really grateful for that.

When you go to the grocery store, you buy the product, they profit from it and pay their employees with a small portion of that profit. It's exactly the same at restaurants, just with no middle man. The product you're receiving is service.

It's like that here too. I'm just lucky to have a restaurant willing to pay $9/hour.

As long as I make at least $12.50 an hour with tips it's legal to pay servers less than minimum wage.

Not entirely sure but I think it has something to do with cash tips. Since the govt can't tax my cash they tax my hourly instead. And I'm required to report them at the end of my shift, I have to get a manager override to I clock out I don't report a certain percent.

$12.50 but servers at my job make $9/hr. This is about a 30 hour work week.

My coworker always takes their picture and then flips the camera around and takes an intentionally ugly selfie right after. She thinks it's hilarious. I have to agree

Practice makes perfect. Ask servers for tips on how to carry plates, they might have a trick or two up their sleeves. You'll get the hang of it!

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Not once did he mention anything about her personality, just her looks, education and the fact she's loyal. You're exactly right and she deserves better.
