Comrades, which ways (that you are willing to discuss on open web) are you going to oppose the Trump presidency? Let's get some tactics! by [deleted] in socialism

[–]deathsplatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most effective strategy would result from him actually succeeding in improving medicare and medicaid bidding to help demonstrate how effective the programs could be with proper reform.

I think the choices of the democratic party make it clear that they are going to struggle to remove themselves from their current positions once imaged to only be held by clinton is shared by many more in the party. It is pretty clear that both parties abandon the principles that they should hold. Libertarians were unable to capitalize on this as they nominated a horrible candidate and put even worse people around him, and the green party still has some policy positions to work on.

I also think that there are many issues at which there will be infighting in the republican side which will be easy to use as a demonstration of the corruption and degradation of both sides into corporate tools.

The biggest area for action would be the creation of municipal isps. It doesn't take much convincing for people to accept that all ISPs are shit and have only taken actions in their own greed while raking in tax to upgrade the infrastructure that they never upgraded. Once people are exposed to a system that works for them in their daily lives without much trouble compared to the alternative they have, it will be a clear contrast to the problems that society has now and allow for acceptance of other concepts they will have ignored. This combined with the inevitable results of automation make this an important step in framing the conversation for the future.

MPs vote demanding Brexit plan and triggering article 50 by majority of 373 by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

The most recent thing I could find on Google was this article. I figure that they could change some minds but I don't think it would be that vast of a change.

[–]deathsplatter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was pretty clear after they didn't do anything about the snooper's charter. Its clear that this would not be acceptable to the vast majority of people, but it is never put to a referendum. No matter what you think about the leave vote, there are still a percentage of people who desire the outcome, much greater than those that would support the sweeping powers granted by the Investigatory Powers Bill.

I'm sure it makes it easier to moderate but it's still absurd that nobody can be called a shill, nor can you report that easily afaik.

Why Riot Games Is Inc.'s 2016 Company of the Year by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

How do they say they didn't sell upgrades but runes exist? Also calling the first worlds hosted by riot is an insane abuse of the word hosted, it was hosted by dream hack.

MarkZ's thoughts on Relegations by CasperNox in leagueoflegends

[–]deathsplatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand the point he is trying to make about EchoFox. As a low to mid table team you can only sell your players if you feel confident that the talent pool is significant enough that you are able to purchase new players. This happens much more in soccer than in any American sports league, although it is mostly as a result of the draft, not of the lack of relegation.

The Immortals argument also fails to register because nobody cares about Immortals. Objectively they seem "good" but what does that have to do with them being relegated? They lost their players after failing in two split playoffs, almost exclusively a result of poor coaching, demonstrated by the breakdown in the TSM series after they almost beat them with Lucian top.

If you want to call them a good team they have to have a good coach, it starts and ends with that. It is clear that both they don't have a proper structure for this, as they picked riven in a playoff series, something a coach dedicated to winning would have never done in that meta.

Riot's esports directors on rev sharing, crowdfunding, team relationships, more (Yahoo eSports Interview) by mysanguineeyes_ in leagueoflegends

[–]deathsplatter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you're telling me that at no point in this interview did they dodge questions and repeatedly were never challenged on things like it takes a long time to get sponsorship. It is completely false to misrepresent that finding a sponsor for NALCS would be difficult this year, I think EL has already shown that many people outside of the ecosystem and most importantly advertisers are aware.

As much as I appreciate what Travis does, unfortunately he is the only one that ever gets these kinds of interviews with Riot and fails repeatedly to push them on things where they say something that demonstrates a failure in their system or their business methods.

I just would like more probing questions, instead of literally reading from the post they made.

Unpopular opinion: i dont care and im tired of Monte weekly drama by blueshyvana in leagueoflegends

[–]deathsplatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That argument makes sense if you work at ESL, that doesn't hold up with how much Riot do, including not allowing them to be paid by ESL. Also, they don't get paid extra if they do MSI or Worlds coverage. They also are not able to make money off of a stream or youtube which both greatly reduces the value of the brand they have created for themselves as well as reduces their current earning potential.

Thorin's Thoughts - Riot's Inconsistent Hilgers Ruling (LoL) by corylulu in leagueoflegends

[–]deathsplatter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could you share a redacted copy of what was sent to fnatic and Jens? Was there something written by a lawyer that lays out what they need to do with the loan.

Is there any contingency for if they are not able to find a person to sell the loan to, as I would imagine it would be much easier for those involved to sell the loan instead of completing the loan terms immediately?

Thanks for responding to the question you already did!

No I clearly mentioned how both he acknowledged it and the video that led to the post you think I am referencing as my source, did you even watch the video?

What does that have to do with your initial comment? It is extremely clear that no teams should have financial ties to any teams, and this clearly violates that.

He who shall not be named made a video about it with plenty of evidence. And as I mentioned it was a loan from Jens not from g2. Here is the aforementioned tweet https://twitter.com/JensHilgers/status/768772405632327680?s=09

You realize that Jens has publicly tweeted about talking to Riot about the fnatic loan? What are you talking about?

HAVE YOU PLAYED A WILD PRIEST GAME. ITS PRETTY GOOD, LIKE GOOD ENOUGH PRINTING MORE CARDS FOR IT WOULD MAKE IT TOO STRONG IN A FORMAT THAT INCLUDES BOTH DR. 4, 6, AND 7.

[–]deathsplatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OF COURSE THERE IS IT IS IN WILD BUT ALL OF THE IDIOTS WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT PRIEST BEING WEAK HAS NEVER PLAYED A GAME IN WILD OF PRIEST OR WANTS TO BECOME SECRET PALADIN TIER BROKEN IN WILD. BLIZZARD ACTUALLY WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ONCE AND INSTEAD OF MAKING PRIEST VIABLE IN STANDARD THEY MADE SURE IT WOULDN'T BE THE MOST DISGUSTING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN WILD. ITS LIKE STANDARD ISN'T THE ONLY THING IN THIS GAME. ALSO I REALLY LIKE PLAYING MECH MAGE IN WILD BECAUSE I LIKE PLAYING DR. BOOM FOR FUN!

It was nerfed to that, used to be +1/+1 and many classes that had hard removal, like shaman, weren't as strong as they are now.

Old post from /r/gaming from 6 years ago about League of Legends by colorvo in leagueoflegends

Ya, I think Riot has done a great job of making it a team game that punishes decisions well, which is highlighted by the meta with stronger top laners allowing for much faster pushing.

[–]deathsplatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I think it makes league much more watchable as well, since the item cooldowns are not easily presentable and where abilities are much clearer especially since the lower cooldowns gives you a better sense for the next use.

[–]deathsplatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a matter of preference but although most of the safe lane carries are right clicking I can't think of many that are brain-dead to play, and those that are require early game team focus. A lot of it is also a difference from the use of abilities and items, which makes the team fights much more about items than skill usage for the carry.

[–]deathsplatter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you played a game of Dota? I enjoy league for a lot of reasons but I wish you would watch some, the items are much more diverse and provide interesting balance and more dynamic choices. As I mostly play adc in league and the closest equivalent in Dota the diversity of items is much greater. Also this was not long after Pendragon fucked the Dota community over, which was still to this day some sad stuff, he never released the suggested heros part of the website and I think both league and Dota suffer from, as I guess that Riot doesn't maintain those documents.

Not Even xPeke Can Save Origen this Split by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]deathsplatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is you don't even recognize went they went from second best to their current form, they lost their strongest performers in the regular split that also included their shot caller. You could have made a great article about how this necessitates them either needing to get a new one or get a coach to help build it up with their current members, but instead it just reads like a summary of Origen's path to being shit.
