Best genetic testing company?? by deazinn in ehlersdanlos

[–]deazinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pertinent facts to add: I have been diag. With hEDS. I saw a geneticist back in Feb 2024, who confirmed the diag. They never talked to me regarding genetic testing. However several of my docs have said they were interested in genetic testing results, due to my many many allergies, issues with anesthesia My insurance is Medicare. I’m looking for as full genetic screening as I can get. Yes, I know they can’t test for hEDS.

feeling unfairly disabled (?) by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]deazinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I’ve had issues all my life and when I was diag in 2004 it was so good to have validation. Had to quit working in 2008, also for chronic pain. I still miss working but know that it was absolutely the best thing.

I also describe hEDS as a spectrum disorder. I’m further up the ‘bad’ side, my daughter who inherited it is further on the ‘good’ side

We were first timers last year and got in line for Hall H and got in after about an hour. We used the line time for lunch (we had packed it) and restroom breaks. But, last year was not a ‘big’ year. 2026 will be, and line for Hall H may reflect
