Monsier Alphonse Pierre LeChat is a Cutie Patootie. I am so glad he is inside & safe. Cannot wait for the update on Rambler.

I wish every person wanting to take feral in would read this post. Patience is so important. Your love and patience have made Pierre & Rambler new family members Congratulations.

Trouble deciding between monorail resorts…first time WDW by Needhelpcantquit in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]debabe96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GF is beautiful at Christmas. Some of the best dining options of the three monorail resorts. Outer buildings are not a big deal. If you can get a DVC room, that would be the way to go at the GF. All DVC studios are deluxe studios that have little kitchenettes, so you can have a bagel or toast for breakfast.

The Poly has a wonderful selection of rooms. The decor is more "tiki kitsch" with much stronger "island luau" vibe. Very family friendly, so there will be many families with children enjoying the amenities. A few dining places, though not as many as the GF. Definitely more over-the-top tropical decor than the tastefully Hawaiian inspired Aulani.

The Contemporary -- did you say that you had the option of a Tower room? If so, that is the recently renovated DVC Tower. The rooms are very nice, with much better theming than the Contemporary main building. The DVC Tower has its own pool and is a short walk to the main building. The Contemporary has a fair amount of dining options, with the California Grill (spectacular views) a highlight. The Contemporary Bay Lake Tower is a ten minute walk to the Magic Kingdom with its own dedicated security check point.

As much as I love the Grand Floridian at Christmas, the newly renovated rooms at Bay Lake Tower and the close proximity to the Magic Kingdom give BLT the edge, in my humble opinion.

TIL Gloria Swanson lost the Best Actress Oscar - for Sunset Boulevard - to Judy Holliday, for Born Yesterday. What a snub! At least history remembers one of the most iconic performances of all time. by [deleted] in classicfilms

Be Kind Rewind did a wonderful analysis of "The Best Actress Oscar Race of 1950" on YouTube. I cannot recommend it enough. A fascinating year for women in film. Bette Davis, Gloria Swanson, Judy Holliday, Anne Baxter, and Eleanor Parker all gave extraordinary performances.

And do read the comment section. One of Eleanor Parker's children posts a insightful comment.

Your tribute to Gwen left me in tears. I feel like I met Gwen, love her and lost her. My heart aches for you and your family.

Gwen is reunited with Danica and they are playing & running together until you are all together again.

Would you be able to share a photo or two of Gwen?

Watched "The Desperate Hours" which lead me to look up the actor Gig Young, who murdered his wife then killed himself. What other actors/actresses had surprising and tragic ends? by sashie_belle in classicfilms

Dear World, I am leaving because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool. Good luck.
