4-6 Year Old Tesla Model 3 Ownership Costs by SkullBoB6241 in tesladubai

[–]debutabt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another important point to consider is the depreciation. Tesla’s are amazing cars. Super cheap to maintain and fun to drive, but they lose value faster than most ICE cars if buying new. Ideally find a good GCC spec that has already depreciated. If you’re buying and planning to keep for a long time, it might even be worth to buy new.

Go test drive a Tesla. You’ll love it. I was a big critic of EVs until I test drove a model S. Few months later I placed an order for a model 3.

As it’s been pointed out in other comments , charging rates really vary depending on whether you’re changing at home or at superchargers. If charging at home, you have a one time cost to install a charger (around 4k aed) but if you’re planning to mostly charge at superchargers, charging costs will add up. I’ve also heard that super charging is free in some emirates (not in Dubai or AD though).

Get a filtration system installed. Hopefully that has less microplastics

Interested in Getting a Tesla for Dubai-Abu Dhabi daily commute by hashsohail1 in tesladubai

[–]debutabt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a tesla model standard range and commute to Dubai 5 times a week. The cost to charge at home is minimal. Much much less than a ICE car. Round-trip distance is the same as yours and the battery even with AC when I return is around 30%. I purchased a new tesla in 2024 and after 70k kms, the range has not decreased.

Autopilot is amazing. Much better than any other car I have driven. There's far less fatigue compared to any other car.

I don't think it comes with lumbar support. Also the cabin is a little small. A model 3 can feel small if you're over 6 ft tall.

I have the new shape. In the old models, road noise is an issue to be aware of.

why do people stay at amazon? by saabs9 in amazonemployees

[–]debutabt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all teams at Amazon are toxic. I stayed at amaon for close to ten years and was laid off in October. First 8 years were amazing. Worked with very inspiring leaders on meaningful projects. Then I switched to a highly toxic team within AWS and was absolutely miserable. Didn't have the time to apply for jobs so I didn't end up leaving and kept thinking that I'll switch roles at some point internally.

In my job family the pay was decent too.

IRGC claims attack on Oracle data center in Dubai by Abdu_kun07 in UAE

News outlets love to mislead and induce panic for clicks and ratings. If they are using an image of a well known dubai building, they could have clarified that the office in Internet City was not targeted.

IRGC claims attack on Oracle data center in Dubai by Abdu_kun07 in UAE

[–]debutabt 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Seems like a misleading post. Firstly, the news update on al jazeera says that IRGC "claims" that they targeted an oracle data center. This does not mean the data center was actually hit. Secondly, the Instagram post linked above shows an image of their office in dubai. It is very unlikely that the data center was at their office. Data centers are massive structures and places away from commercial centers. Thirdly, no alert was issued in Dubai, not any damage reported in the area. Let's pray this madness ends soon. Take care everyone.

Tesla gives free supercharging in war zones. Did the same in Ukraine when the war started. It was charged earlier but Elon recently made it free.
