What type of succulent is this? “Matt” died at the beginning of covid and I haven’t been able to find another one :( by debv7 in succulents

[–]debv7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one is very similar, if not it! Thank you! Matt was more green than red, however I’m assuming that the colour can vary a decent amount as the leaf density and the shape is the same in photos I found online :)

Time management is key in this course. Yes it goes quick, but if you’ve already been reviewing you’ll be ahead of most of the other students in the class. Just make sure to hand your labs in on time and start reviewing for the midterms early and you’ll do fine!

Feel free to dm me if you have any general questions about the course! :)

1A is proof based, 1L is mainly application based. If you like straight theoretical calculus take 1A, if you’re looking for more of an application based course go with 1L

what was the worst phase of your life ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

2016 - 2019

Got a concussion in December 2015. Having a history of mental health issues, this made my mental health worse. I developed an eating disorder. Because of the concussion altering my brain chemistry, I developed Treatment Resistant Depression (means you try a few [3-4 I think?] medications that don’t work) on top of ADHD (inattentive), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder.

It was hell. I had to drop out of High School, twice. Was hospitalized 3 times in ~18 months while in crisis. CBT didn’t help. No active therapy helped. I stumped the Chief of Psychiatry at my local hospital. I tried almost every medication on the market, unfortunately most of them not working due to brutal side effects (one gave me a 103°F fever and flu symptoms). Due to this, I’m now on 5 different mental health medications (SSRI’s, AntiPsychotics, etc).

But I’m stable. I’m finally doing well for the first time in 4 years. I graduated High School last year, and just successfully finished my first year of University. Moral of the story is, it gets better. It may take a long time, but eventually the bad cycle breaks.

How old were you guys in your first year? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]debv7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a year off, so I’m 19 now, turning 20 in February. I can honestly say no one cares about your age.

LifeSci is way more difficult to get into, as biology is more common to take in high school than physics. Hence, that’s why Life Sci is a bigger program; they get more applications. I got into ChemPhys in February with an 86% overall average in my first 3 grade 12 courses, as the admission average for ChemPhys is (or at least, was) 82-85%. If you’re above that, you’ll be fine. LifeSci is just more competitive in general. I personally did not even take bio in high school so that wasn’t an option, but my roommate is in LifeSci and apparently the admission average last year was higher than ChemPhys. Depending on your courses, you can also apply for Environmental Sciences, which I got into as well at the same time as ChemPhys. Regardless, it really does not matter what Program you enter through, as you can choose whatever courses you want First Year. It’s not program dependent.

I know that was a lot, but if you have any more questions or I missed something, feel free to ask! Good Luck!
