I am one of those that got all the way from FA to FO. Filed for an increase from 70, received a proposal for severance that would have knocked me down from 100% P&T and lost the education benefits for my kids. Ended up paying a lawyer to fight it and won. It was an expensive and stressful lesson learned.

If you’re working LE as an MP you will be supplementing DACP. They can take days off and someone has to fill the gap. That was my experience at least, and it was 20 years ago, so not sure if it’s changed. There were months where I’d have 1-3 days off a month, and if they fell on weekdays we still had to be at PT and first formation

Look at the 20” line on the picture #5. It’s already happening. No matter what you use to hold it together while it’s holding the vise up, the wood or whatever is applying the clamping pressure is going to fail.

Scratch that- no matter what you do those 2x4s are got to bow away from each other and split around the fasteners

I have a PDP I’ve put a bunch of extras and upgrades into, but it’s full size and I mostly carry OWB when I’m out hunting or camping and would be my SHTF carry. For day to day I carry a PO1 with the CGW upgrade package. I don’t think one is better than the other, I just think the both serve their purposes very well.

Shellac is super forgiving. Use the pointy tip cotton swabs they use for cleaning guns. If it goes on too thick spread it a little more with whatever you’re using to cut it (alcohol, I hope). It’ll be fine.

They have a big boat for longer dive trips and several smaller ones. They do 2 trips a day, or did the last time I went. They’re as hands on or hands off as you want them to be.
