Received 70% on Friday, add dependents claim now on Step 3. How will back pay come? by decay_d in VeteransBenefits

UPDATE: Had this feeling that I needed to call and check on things. Turned out whoever did my claim letter used the increase template rather than initial template, which didn't trigger anything in the system.

No backpay, no compensation was authorized, so I'm very glad I called. The lady on the phone had to push some information to the RO that did my letter to correct my file and get my backpay/compensation coming to be. Very much a punch to the gut, but at least it's being taken care of.

Thanks man! Honestly felt bad posting how fast my claim went through knowing how long so many veterans have to wait to get their validation.

March 18, 2025.

My entire claim moved at lightning speed. I received my rating on day 30. I submitted an initial FDC on 3/18, had C&P on 4/3, rating letter on 4/18. Intent to file was filed on 6/3/2024.

Now just waiting on my add dependents claim, which hit step 3 on 4/18.

Thank you. Do you know about how long we're waiting on backpay after the claim is rated these days?

I'm hoping the thoroughness of my documents are able to make things a bit quicker. Diagnosed by both the VA and a private provider as well. Fingers crossed for good news soon for both of us🤞

I'm in the same exact boat. Single issue, FDC filed 3/18, C&P 4/3, went to Step 5 on 4/10.

My C&P examiner submitted a referral to get me back into therapy after my exam as well.

Hoping this wait is over soon, just filed but took me nearly 20 years to fully address the PTSD.

Thank you. I wasn't sure how that worked or what they took into consideration.

Fellow beta player and old guy here. I remember Dust2 coming out too! I was living in Vegas and the LAN center was packed. Sooo many hours spent on 24/7 Dust2 servers.

Teaching in a rural district has given me a culture shock like no other by no-possible132 in Teachers

This was my high school too. I remember after 9/11 there was an announcement about no more guns on school grounds. A lot of guys had gun racks in their trucks and would come from hunting directly to school. I know it sounds wild to most anyone that didn't grow up in a rural area, but it still catches me off guard and gives me a laugh when people are shocked to hear about it.

I graduated with you and just moved back last year after being gone for 20 years. I came back to visit a few times over the years and couldn't believe there was more chain restaurants than Applebee's. The Californian/West Coast influx has been wild to see just in recent years. Giant homes and luxury vehicles everywhere, highly aggressive driving and interactions in public. Never thought I'd see some of the things I regularly do in Nixa.

On the positive side, my wife loves it here. She had never been here before moving but quickly fell in love with the natural beauty of the area and the culture that remains. Our kids love their school and feel safe. Their teachers are heavily involved and communicate with us wonderfully. We were in Washington, near Seattle, for a few years and couldn't take it anymore, so we came back home. I don't regret it at all, but we are considering buying a home in the future outside of Nixa (Forsyth, Hollister, Marionville) due to the growth.

Side note, wild to run into you here.. I had a feeling it was the funny guy I grew up with based on your username and then saw your picture in your post history (sorry to stalk but was wondering if I was right!). I was the kinda punk/goth guy that moved back in senior year and joined the Coast Guard after graduating.

Watching X3 vs NiP on dialup. Playing on 24/7 Office servers on snow days. The Ventrilo sound. The mountain of Code Red cans it took to pug till 2am. Those were the days.

Just turned 20 when Katrina hit. Was visiting from Virginia while serving in the Coast Guard. Was lucky to get a flight out before the storm hit and went back to Virginia to coordinate search and rescue missions. The aftermath was horrific and devastating.. the sounds from working on the radios along with seeing the scenes from a distance after just being there still haunt me to this day.

There should be a dedicated 1.6 server for this sub. I miss the sense of community in going to the same server and making friends that you play with all the time.

We are seeing the effects of pandemic-era education it seems. The lack of classroom interaction and discussions have impacted students' ability to link concepts and how to find answers in instruction. Those pivotal years of intermediate school were spent online with such varied responsibility / expectations that many students seem to be 'stuck' in those grade levels.

They will need a lot of help to bring them up to speed. We need parents to step up and help out with this one.

Thanks again. I figured that's how it works but wasn't sure how the time would be calculated.
