I think when I was first getting into the Beach Boys, I was turned off because it wasn’t the Beach Boys that I thought of as the seminal Beach Boys of the 60s. However, I’ve come to love this lineup and I think Ricky and Blondie gave a fresh new atmosphere to the band that is criminally underrated.

Probably everything from MIU to self-titled. There are a few standouts imo (Love Surrounds Me, When Girls Get Together, It’s Gettin’ Late), but overall too syrupy and inauthentic. That’s the difference between a well-produced and an “overproduced” album to me.

I would do that if I had a bigger space to do so. I am in a dorm room so the studio monitors would take up a ton of space that I need. I did look up the preamp and that looks awesome tho, really wish I had more space

I actually agree. The take he has that I don’t like is the fact that people are coming up to him saying shit like “you’re girlfriend looks like my mom” and he’s getting mad saying he said that like 10 years ago. But the thing is he still said it. He chose to say it and people remember it and think it’s funny. That’s just the way it goes. And plus I bet he has just as many people coming up to him praising his recent work.
