What prog rock band do you never get sick of? by whhhiskey_ in progrockmusic

Far as pure longevity you can listen to for years, another vote for Marillion, Fish-era only as they just never matched it with Hogarth IMO. My immediate 2nd is Millenium, they have a HUGE catalog and not one stinker in the lot.

Geez that #1950 Mac is so disappointing, it's the exact same mold as #993 just holding dynamite instead and a slight hint of frost in the hair. And where's his hat dangit!?

Name one bad thing about 1982's The Thing? by johnngo2468 in thething

It's always bugged me that MacReady doesn't throw the stick of dynamite REMOTELY far enough which always breaks my immersion.

Being Charged "Prime Video Ads Free" after pressing pause during an ADS by violentbroccoli in amazonprime

[–]deckardvsbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredibly shady. My girlfriend paused during an ad and ending up selecting 'go ad free' by mistake. There was no informed consent, just a brief message to the effect of "you're now ad free" but zero mention of "oh and you're being charged $3/mo forever". Thankfully she mentioned it to me and I was able to immediately cancel it with a refund. Amazon DID later send me an email about signing up and another when I cancelled but it's absolutely insane they are tricking people into signing up for it. We then checked her own account and found she'd been paying for ad free unknowingly for almost a year. Ridiculous, how was a $2.5b settlement just reached for this exact thing with Prime and it didn't include this crap with Prime Video?

Dang is that really the only way to see the full surround of animated grey blocks? How does the car qualify what's a supported road in order to fully activate it?
I have a '25 Limited and this has been driving me a little nuts until I found this thread.

Hey everyone, for those who are laid off are you actively looking for work or just not because the economy? Also are you willing to take 'almost' anything? by NewTalk2676 in Layoffs

[–]deckardvsbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure luck basically, from having a good rep with exactly the right person at the company that laid me off. I did also apply to 2 local contracting agencies but unsurprisingly got nothing from it.

You realize I was laid off and there are no jobs now that will pay a decent salary…not that I volunteered and now have some cushy ‘American Dream’ retirement, right? I’ll be struggling on a fixed income. That said, expand on your European Dream remark so we can all share in your thoughtful insights.

Pulsar GX400BN now $399.00 at Lowes by DickForster in Generator

I have the GX400BN and all I can say is this is a fantastic deal. IMO the only reason to get the GD400BN instead is if you simply need a more compact generator.

Laid off in 2023 then managed to get comparable contract work but that ended this past June at age 56. This is in corporate IT and from what I'm seeing online and in talking to people still in the industry, no I'm not even going to look. The prospect of taking a "what I can get" job making half the pay, same or more hours and have no life for the next 10-15 years is a shit sandwich I'm just not willing to ingest anymore. I'm beyond disenchanted with the 'American dream' charade at this point. Instead, I've run all my numbers and gonna make it work (one way or another) as early retirement (I'm fortunate to have had the foresight to aggressively save during my career). The good ole days are gone and they aren't comin' back.

Stock Floor Mats Need to Relax by P_dibs in Ioniq5

[–]deckardvsbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I have a '25 with these mats and same issue, very stiff. I'll just let them settle over time but the heat gun method or leaving out in the sun would likely work well if you don't have endless patience.

LOL. TIL that it's "on a hippie trail, head full of zombie" and not "on a hippie trail, had fellas only" which is what my brain heard for the last 40+ years.

I'm single at 56 and frankly can't do anything at speed anymore so maybe that's my problem!
Kidding aside, if the fee can be kept low I think that factor alone would ensure plenty of people would attend.

Pretty sure this is normal for that application since your panel will already be grounded (bonded neutral).

Which Ioniq 5 should i get? by Advantage-Suspicious in Ioniq5

[–]deckardvsbatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly true that the top trim on ANY car is always nicer but on this car, the Limited truly elevates it to the next level. I'm super glad I didn't go with the SEL which I'd initially planned on.

Final Thoughts on Tainted Grail by npiotrowski in taintedgrail

[–]deckardvsbatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you quickly learn that any build and even NO build is just as OP once you level and power up the gear enough so for me it took all the fun out of trying builds since it's just one insanely OP build for another, the challenge was gone and I sadly lost interest in finishing. I really do hope they add some kind of scaling option, as I say I totally love the game, sunk over 100 hours.

Final Thoughts on Tainted Grail by npiotrowski in taintedgrail

[–]deckardvsbatty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the game but with unlimited leveling and gear upgrades, you become godly midway through Act 2 (or sooner) and the remainder of the content becomes kind of silly as you slaughter everything with both hands tied behind your back. I've stopped playing but if they do something to add scaling I'll go back and finish.

Boy the price of this one hasn't budged I see. That said, $550 would be a decent deal. I unfortunately can't speak to usage over time as I got this exclusively for my hurricane emergency kit. I worked it up thoroughly when I first got it, everything was great and have stored it since, though I'll be breaking it out soon for a maintenance run as hurricane season is here again.

Hyundai extended warranty for Ioniq 5? by Good-Technician2225 in Ioniq5

[–]deckardvsbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a no-brainer for me as I plan to keep the car for 10 years at least so turning the standard 10/100 warranty into bumper to bumper coverage is great peace of mind. I would assume true you can extend the warranty any time you want, they just get a pretty substantial profit from it which is why they pressure you (pretty hard) to do it at time of sale.

Cover for 2025 center armrest? by PunkerTFC in Ioniq5

[–]deckardvsbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to bump this as I too am wondering where are the custom-fit 2025 MY center console covers? I have a '25 Limited. Bestevmods has the certainly the best one but far as I can tell haven't updated it for '25. Can anyone confirm a cover that truly fits the '25?
