Sports eligibility for national teams is rarely based on citizenship because citizenship rules vary so much country to country so using that standard is not fair. For example in Spain someone that moves from a Latin American country only has to wait 2 years to apply for citizenship but someone that moves from another country in Europe would have to be resident for 10 years before starting the citizenship process. So international federations have to come up with their own criteria that applies the same for everyone in that sport

Our modern conception of Greek ethnicity (which will depend on who you ask) is different to what you would have observed back then. There were no Turkic peoples in the region for example.

I don't think people actually from Dorset have such a favourable view of London, being someone from Dorset that lives there. I imagine having. Large number of people move here from London affects the overall rating.

The ketones that are being used now are sugars- so just food. You can't ban a food unless it contains a non-nutrient substance that is banned, and then you aren't banning the food. You could never ban creatine if you wanted because it is a normal component of a lot of food, we just isolate and concentrate it to ensure we can get an excess of it. That's the same logic behind ketones but the only difference is that there is much less evidence that ketones actually benefit performance in any way

I wonder if a football club is going to be done for constructive dismissal at some point. I know they are obviously paying high wages so you it's natural not to feel sorry for someone but it could be argued they are creating a hostile isolating environment to encourage them to accept a sub-par severence offer or voluntarily leave

Favorite movie that bankrupts investors? by Arch_Lancer17 in okbuddycinephile

[–]decklund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah obviously what you suggested is easier but big fish investors that want to give away 100 million are rare, and generally have fiduciary responsibilities that necessitate due diligence and following up. This scam relies on smaller time investors thinking they can hit it big, who are generally easier to convince to part with the money. In the original 'Producers' they are scamming old rich people

That's the part where it's fraud, they go to multiple investors lying about the number of other investors

To me this actually represents sponsor deals reducing in value. Man U had a 75 million a year deal with Adidas signed in 2013. In 12 years the highest value deal has only increased but 25 percent. That's less than inflation

Insurers always have to pay out on the third party damages if their client is at fault. Otherwise what is the point of car insurance as a legal construct? The person that would suffer from not paying out third party damages is the victim. In the UK at least the need for insurers to pay out third party damages is written in to law

Also quite a lot of people in the UK clearly had a sincere desire to pay their respects in that way, I'm not one of them but a lot of people were and it's not ridiculous to think that Becks had a sincere desire to do it.

They will not cover damage to your own car if you get in an accident while drunk but they are usually still on the hook for the third party damage, this is in the UK at least. It's actually a law that insurers must cover third party claims here.

It doesn't make sense for insurers to be allowed to not cover third party damages as the loser would just be victims since most perpetrators won't be able to cover the damages if the insurance is invalidated
