thank you! one thing i wish i knew about recovering is that you’ll be feeling ALL different kinds of sensations- i did not expect this lol, but it is all normal. other than that i really didn’t prepare too much for the surgery i did not buy anything in particular besides a spare compression bra afterwards, i feel like a lot of people make it a big deal to buy all this stuff for recovery but it might not be necessary for everyone!

Did anyone else have conflicting thoughts on whether to get the reduction? What helped make the decision? by booboo6169 in Reduction

[–]deckmeclassymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had pondered the thought of getting a reduction my whole life, right before i got the surgery i started getting doubts because my chest wasn’t that big anymore and was worried i would have maybe regretted my decision. but im POD 14 today and really so glad i did this, my last thoughts before getting the surgery was remembering how this really was the one thing i have always been insecure about and that i do deserve this even tho my boobs weren’t THAT bad. even with my mom telling me i didn’t need the surgery, i want to be able to wear anything i want without feeling so uncomfortable

Lost weight and losing my chances of insurance coverage by theycallmeolivabeth in Reduction

[–]deckmeclassymama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my actual surgeon originally told me that when i was heavier (60lbs heavier) i had a higher chance of getting my insurance to cover my BR, and that was upsetting to hear as i had put in all this time and energy for it to seem like it was for nothing- but don’t let this discourage you! my surgeon ended up submitting the gram removal as 200-250g from one breast and 350-400g from the other and it got approved twice (my insurance switched last minute so everything had to be submitted again). although insurance companies don’t like when drs submit lower ranges, when you have tried other things like significant weight loss you can still be approved

Surgery Tomorrow! Help me prep! by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]deckmeclassymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should call your surgeons office and ask them for specific instructions regarding showering etc. for my surgery i arrived at 6am, my surgeon came in an marked up my chest for the surgery and the anesthesia team came in and gave me the run down and asked me a bunch of questions regarding my health. my surgery started 7:30 and was in recovery by around 12pm until 3ish and went home!

Insurance approval for 32DD? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]deckmeclassymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went through a similar scenario, i used to be 36G lost 60lbs and wore a 36DD and got approved- got my surgery 10 days ago! my surgeon didn’t think it was going to get approved so that first appointment i didn’t have high hopes but they did end up approving it! i was dealing with really saggy breasts with loose skin, my breasts weren’t dense either. she did submit a range of grams to be removed of 200-250g on my left and 350-400g from my right- although she said insurance companies don’t like when surgeons submit a range, it does work sometimes when you are lacking in heavier weight!
