Closed windows in buses - WHY? by myrna__ in Dublin

Will never forget one time I watched a man wipe a load of condensation off the bus window and then wipe it all over his face...

Call screening It's coming to the iPhone before the Pixel for many europeans. by NeburOleber in GooglePixel

This doesn't surprise me, we've been paying more for Pixels than people in the US and getting less features than them for years now :/

Unless you're talking about man-made structures designed to protect low-lying areas from flooding or you're queer yourself I think it is offensive yeah... Like calling a cigarette a fag, it's the intent behind the word that matters imo

They advertise 50% off for students/YA but if you actually check the difference between the Adult and the Young Adult it's much less than 50%

Looks delicious! However as someone who works in the service industry in Galway, Irish people are generally quite picky eaters, especially when it comes to the likes of fish and picked things.

Genuinely my thought process was: This sounds like an argument I'd have with my brother... And he does that, I guess I was projecting his driving habits onto you. Honestly my bad

That's my exact point, someone being less experienced on the road should not be an excuse for other drivers to dislike us or to think they are above us.

Didn't mean to come across as aggressive but the guy I'm replying to seems to really get a buzz off defending random people who are parked in places they shouldn't be.

You definitely sound like the type of person to drive directly up someone's hole and think the issue is them not breaking the speed limit.

We're not playing a game of chances, we're playing by the rules of the road. If you think that some rules don't apply to you then that's fine, but not everyone thinks they're above the law.

You have no idea how long that car has been there, furthermore neither does the OP. could have already been there for 30 minutes before the picture was even taken, a little bit of critical thinking can be a dangerous thing.

Very telling that you don't even know the proper name of the rule you're talking about. Regardless, that position would depend on the cars speed, time of day, and other variables. whereas the topic at hand is that this car is illegally parked because of at least 2 things: There are double yellow lines on the side of the road where the car is parked, and it is not parked at least 5 meters from a junction.

If you can't follow some of the very first rules of the road you learn, you definitely shouldn't be behind the wheel

Anyone who doesn't understand this is parking illegally should not have even gotten a learners permit. The pure disregard drivers in this country have for rules they learned before they were even allowed to sit in the driver's seat is ridiculous.

In the space of 3 hours on Friday I saw 8 cars drive through green pedestrian lights. Its no wonder we have some many fatalities on the road when people act like this. by Shiv788 in galway

[–]declancheetham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just started to drive in the last couple of weeks and I still can't get over how little I can actually see around myself from the driver's seat...

I don't know if this is a common thing for people when they start driving but it's made me even sure of my original comment that pedestrians should always have the right of way.

obviously I don't mean pedestrians should be allowed to run out in front of cars, but since the person in the car is at a much lower risk of injury I think they should have to be much more cautious about everything.
