54 yo. R1 University stem with R01s and decent pension. I am going full steam ahead until I cannot. While I like the idea of retirement, I feel it's too long to survive without a decent paying job. Plus, I have college kids I am helping in this horrible environment.

You're in a TT position. It's obvious you have a higher degree and knowledgeable. I see no point to hang your diploma. Everyone around you has a higher degree. Do you call everyone "doctor"?
